The instrument used was a collection card for 86 pharmacotherapeutic follow-ups where psychotropic drugs for anxiety, depression and insomnia were registered.

Results: In the actual and potential drug interactions of psychotropic drugs, according to the degree of severity dimension, it was identified that the important indicator represented the highest frequency of 89% of the interactions; according to the type of interaction dimension, it was identified that the pharmacodynamic indicator presented a higher frequency with 53%; according to the clinical evidence dimension, it was identified that the fair indicator had a higher frequency with 73% interactions; in the manifestation dimension, it was identified that the potential indicator presented a higher frequency with 92.2% interactions. In its moment of appearance dimension, it was identified that the quick indicator had a higher prevalence with 5.5% of real interactions. In its causality algorithm dimension, the probable indicator was identified as having the highest frequency with 7.25% of actual interactions. With respect to sex, the male presented 49.9% of potential interactions and in the real interactions, the female sex presented a higher incidence with 4.3% interactions. The average age of the potential interactions was 48.83 years, and the average age of the real interactions was 45.67 years. Sertraline presented 53.2% of potential interactions and in relation to real drug interactions the one that presented the highest frequency was mirtazapine with 3.5% interactions.

Patient experience with nursing care and patient satisfaction with overall hospital services

Objective: To determine how patient experience with nursing care influence patient satisfaction with overall hospital services.

Design: This was a cross-sectional study.

Setting: Inpatients were consecutively recruited at the national hospital (with 2000 beds) in Shanghai, China.

Participants: The inclusion criteria were as follows: (1) hospitalized for 2 days or more; (2) able to read and understand Chinese; and (3) aged 18 years old or above. Patients with mental health problems were excluded. 756 patient surveys distributed among 36 wards were analyzed. The mean age of participants in the study was 57.7 (SD=14.5) and ranged from 18-80 years. Most participants were male (61.5%) and ever married (94.6%).

Primary and secondary outcome measures: Patient experience with nursing care, meaning the sum of all interactions between patients and nurses, was measured using the self-designed questionnaire, which was developed by patient interviews, literature analysis and expert consultation. The overall patient satisfaction question was measured with a ten-point response option ranging from 1-10.

Results: A linear relationship between the patient experience with nursing care and overall patient satisfaction was observed. The patient experience with nursing care was significantly associated with overall satisfaction in the crude model and in the adjusted models. Even after adjusting for 6 sociodemographic and 3 disease-related factors, the patient experience with nursing care explained 34.9% of the variation in overall patient satisfaction.

Conclusions: This study showed that patient experience with nursing care was an important predictor for overall patient satisfaction.

Study of the medical service efficiency of county-level public general hospitals based on medical quality constraints: A cross-sectional study

Objectives: Since the new medical reform in 2009, county-level hospitals in China have achieved rapid development, but health resource waste and shortage issues still exist.

Design: We applied the Meta-frontier and SBM-undesirable(Slacks-based Measurement-undesirable) DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) model to measure the medical service efficiency with or without medical quality constraints of the county-level public general hospitals (CPGHs). The assessment includes four inputs, three desirable outputs, and one undesirable output. We conducted the assessment via Max-DEA V.8.19 software. Moreover, we analyze the factors affecting CPGHs' medical service efficiency based on the FRM model.

Setting: A total of 77 sample CPGHs were selected from Shanxi province in China from 2013 to 2018.

Results: The results of this study showed that the efficiency level of county-level public hospitals in Shanxi Province is relatively low overall (the mean value of efficiency is 0.61 without quality constraints and 0.63 under quality constraints). This showed that ignoring medical quality constraints will result in lower efficiency and lower health resource utilization for high-medical-quality hospitals. The medical service efficiency of CPGHs differs greatly among different regions. Under the meta-frontier, the hospitals in the central region had the highest efficiency (efficiency score 0.70), followed by those in the south (efficiency score 0.63), and the hospitals in the north had the lowest efficiency (efficiency score 0.54). Factors that have larger impacts on the service efficiency of county public hospitals are the average length of hospital stay, per capita disposable income and financial subsidy income.

Conclusions: To improve CPGHs' medical service efficiency, the government should increase investment in the northern region, and hospitals should improve the management level and allocate human resources rationally.

Matching Registered Nurse Services With Changing Care Demands in Psychiatric Hospitals: A Multicenter Observational Study (MatchRN Psychiatry Study). Data from the Nurse Survey

MatchRN Psychiatry is a multicenter observational study of Swiss psychiatric hospitals. This study's purpose is to describe health care quality by exploring hospital structures such as nurse staffing and the work environment; processes such as the rationing of care; nurse outcomes, including job satisfaction and work-life balance. The sample for this study included approximately 1200 nurses from 115 units of 13 psychiatric hospitals in Switzerland's German-speaking region. The nurse survey covered three dimensions: work environment, patient safety climate, and the rationing of care. Data were collected between September 2019 and June 2021. The MatchRN Psychiatry study is funded by the participating psychiatric hospitals and the Swiss Psychiatric Nursing Leaders Association (Vereinigung Pflegekader Psychiatrie Schweiz).
