Nineteen lines in a page.</p> <p>کتاب دفع العاهات فی الصلوة علی افضل المخلوقات تالیف الشیخ الامام العالم العلامة مولانا السید محمود القادری المدنی الشافعی حفظه الله آمین</p> <p>A fragment of a Book of Prayers for Muḥammad, consisting of extracts from Jaz&ucirc;l&icirc;&rsquo;s دلائل الخیرات, with paraphrase and explanations, and a few original additions, so as to form a sort of commentary on that work. The author, Saiyid MAḤM&Ucirc;D Ḳ&Acirc;DIR&Icirc;, of Mad&icirc;nah, was still alive when this MS. was written, <em>i.e. </em>A.H. 1107 [= 1695-96 CE].<em> </em></p> <p>Beginning (fol. 1<em>v</em>.): فصل ثم ادرجْ فی قرّة عینیک بقیّة الادعیة المرغوبة و الصلوات المحمودة من الکتاب المشهور المسمّی بدلائل الخیرات</p> <p>The division of the دلائل الخیرات into quarters and thirds is also marked here. The first quarter ends on fol. 6. At the end, as additions by the author, are two prayers for Muḥammad, ascribed to Abu Bakr and &lsquo;Al&icirc;, and after these a drawing of the three tombs in the Mosque of Mad&icirc;nah.</p> <p>The colophon offers a different title:</p> <p>اقول و قد تم بحمدالله و توفیقه الکتاب المسمّی بالنجاة من العاهات فی نحو کراسین ولکن بخط المؤلف حفظه الله تعالی و نفعنا بعلومه و برکاته و هذا کالشرح الاعظم عند العقلاء للاقوال و الادعیة التی اختلف [فیها]¹ العلماء من کتاب دلائل الخیرات و خیر الکلام ما قلّ و دلّ العبد الفقیر تاج الدین المقدسی عفی الله عنه سنة ۱۱۰۷</p> <p>Well written, with vowel-points, but injured and defective in several places.
