Nineteen lines in a page.</p> <p>Annotations on the preceding Commentary of <em>M&icirc;rak</em>, and on its حواشي, by MUHAMMAD H&Acirc;SHIM Hasan&icirc;, a physician. They are entitled كشف الغين عن شرح حكمة العين.</p> <p>The Long Preface begins: حمدا لمن شد بحکمته متون العلماء و شرح بفضله صدور الفضلاء. . The author states in it that he compiled these annotations only for private use, not for publication. He made use of the glosses (التعليقات) of <em>Mas&rsquo;&ucirc;d</em> <em>Sharw&acirc;n&icirc;</em>,² while he usually took no notice of the popular glosses of الفاضل الشيرازی (probably Ḳuṭb al-d&icirc;n, see no.498). The preface concludes with a long invocation of &lsquo;Al&icirc;.</p> <p>These annotations end with the first book (مقالة) of the حكمة العين. The passages commented on are introduced by قال or قوله.</p> <p>Well Written.
