From thirteen to nineteen lines in a page.</p> <p>I.Foll. 1-10. کتاب الذبح و الاصطیاد المنتخب من کتب الشیخین و وجوه المتاخرین اهل التحقیق و الاجتهاد.</p> <p>A treatise on Butchering and hunting, according to the Sh&acirc;fi&rsquo;ite rite; probably by <a href="https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n80081636.html">SUY&Ucirc;Ṭ&Icirc; </a>(d. A.H. 911).</p> <p>Begins: الحمدلله الّذی احلّ لنا الطیّبات مصطادة و ذبیحة.</p> <p>This treatise was partly compiled from the works of the &ldquo;two Shaikhs&rdquo; (Ghazz&acirc;l&icirc; and R&acirc;fi&rsquo;&icirc;?), and of later authorities, such as Nawaw&icirc;; but most of its materials were taken directly from the تحفة المنهاج (of Sir&acirc;j al-d&icirc;n &lsquo;Omar b. al-Mulaḳḳin, d. A.H. 884).<sup>1</sup></p> <p>II.Foll. 11-18. An episode from the legendary history of Muḥammad. The hero of it is Sham&rsquo;&ucirc;n b. Kh&acirc;lid.</p> <p>Imperfect at the beginning. The first words are: اخرجنا عنا العطش و الجوع.</p> <p>Dated 12<sup>th</sup> Jum&acirc;da I., 1214.</p> <p>III.Foll. 19-34. A legendary account of Muḥammad&rsquo;s expeditions to the Syrian frontier, and particularly of the expedition to Tab&ucirc;k; imperfect at the end.</p> <p>The narrative, though rather fabulous, begins with quoting old authorities, as follows: و بعد الحمدلة و التصلیة قال علماء السیر فی اخبارهم منهم محمد بن اسحق و عمّار بن زید المدنی و غیرهما کلهم یرفعون الحدیث الی عبدالله بن مسعود الخ.</p> <p>IV.Foll. 35-224. کتاب شرح الصدور بشرح حال الموتی و القبور.</p> <p>An account of the state of the soul between death and the resurrection, drawn from the Traditions, and arranged in chapters, by <a href="https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n80081636.html">SUY&Ucirc;Ṭ&Icirc;</a>. Cf. Ḥ. Kh. iv. 39.</p> <p>Incomplete at the end. Defects after foll. 134 and 177.</p> <p>V.Foll. 225-337. کتاب الانوار انوار النبی المختار.</p> <p>A legendary history of the birth and early life of Muḥammad, concluding with his marriage with Khad&icirc;jah (a so-called <em>Maulid</em>), by ABU&rsquo;L-ḤASAN BAKR&Icirc;. Cf. Ḥ. Kh. i. 483, who gives the work a somewhat different title.</p> <p>It is imperfect at the commencement, but apparently only a little is wanting. Begins: من ذلک و سارت الیه الرکبان و قبائل العربان من کل جانب و مکان.</p> <p>One leaf is missing before fol. 247; the contents of it are, however, supplied on the margin of that folio.</p> <p>VI.Foll. 338-389. Some other episodes of the life of Muḥammad, narrated in a legendary or rather romantic style:- his marriage with &lsquo;&Acirc;&rsquo;ishah, the wedding of &lsquo;Al&icirc; and F&acirc;ṭimah, etc. They are introduced and followed by a chronological survey of the events of the first eleven years of the Hijrah; and the whole concludes with an account of the death of the Prophet, which, however, ends abruptly on the next fol.</p> <p>Begins: ذکر بعض الامور المشهورة بعد الهجرة علی ترتیب السنین.</p> <p>Written in various inelegant hands, apparently in Malabar.<sup>1</sup></p> <p>[Bibl.
