AGO2 localises to cytokinetic protrusions in a p38 dependent manner and is needed for accurate cell division.

<p>Argonaute 2 (AGO2) is an indispensable component of the RNA-induced silencing complex, operating at the transcriptional or posttranscriptional level. It is compartmentalized into structures such as GW- and P-bodies, stress granules and adherens junctions as well as the midbody.&nbsp;&nbsp;Here we show using immunofluorescence, image- and bioinformatic analysis and cytogenetics&nbsp;that AGO2 also resides in membrane protrusions such as open- and close-ended tubes. The latter are cytokinetic bridges where AGO2 colocalizes at the midbody-arms with cytoskeletal components such as &alpha;-&Tau;ubulin and Aurora B and various kinases. AGO2, phosphorylated on serine 387 is located together with Dicer at the midbody ring in a manner dependent on p38 MAPK activity.&nbsp;&nbsp;We further show that AGO2 is stress sensitive and important to ensure the proper chromosome segregation and cytokinetic fidelity. We suggest that AGO2 is part of a regulatory mechanism triggered by cytokinetic stress to generate the appropriate micro-environment for local transcript homeostasis.</p> <p><br> Statement: AGO2 resides in open-ended tunneling nanotubes and close-ended cytokinetic bridges. At the latter location AGO2 colocalises with cell division components and the authors show that AGO2 deregulation impairs cell division fidelity.</p>

W4RES Needs, perceptions and challenges in RHC landscape for eight regions dataset1 2021/03/30

<p>The main idea behind the survey design was to obtain a clear identification of key factors correlated to the market uptake of RHC solutions through a gender disaggregated analytical approach in eight countries (Greece, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Slovakia, Norway, and Bulgaria). To better address different perspectives across the quadruple helix, the survey has been designed to include questions that are specifically targeted to each group. The survey has been divided into broad sections covering the most relevant topics to be addressed.</p><p>As for the interviews, to analyze needs, perceptions and challenges of market actors and stakeholders through a gender lens, the following research questions were defined:</p><p>I. Identify needs, perceptions and challenges of market actors and stakeholders across the quadruple helix in the 8 regions regarding the uptake of RHC solutions.</p><p>II. Identify needs, perceptions and challenges of market actors and stakeholders across the quadruple helix in the 8 regions regarding the role of women in RHC.</p><p>The survey was coded on the EUSurvey software and translated in the following languages: English, German, French, Bulgarian, Danish, Greek, Italian, Dutch and Slovak. As advised by ECWT, the partner based in Norway, it was agreed that disseminating the survey in English to the potential respondents operating in Norway was an appropriate strategy and that a translation in Norwegian was not necessary.</p>

SOCIB is one research organisation which makes research data available, which in turn triggers a new understanding in oceanography and allows for faster responses to societal needs. Funding Open Science means funding higher quality, faster, and more impactful science. Funders can also fund Open Science infrastructure to facilitate the shift to Open Science.</p>

Ensuring good data quality requires specialized expertise. Data stewards and other data management professionals support researchers with providing and working with good quality data which are also FAIR. Open software, open infrastructures are also important bits in the Open Science puzzle, all of which require funding. The uptake of Open Science depends on widespread Open Science awareness and skills. These require outreach, training and formal education.</span></p>

Online survey of needs and challenges of innovation ecosystems and intermediaries for taking up activity in the EU space sector

<p>The present dataset was generated as part of the &quot;Needs and challenges of innovation ecosystems and intermediaries for taking up activity in the EU space sector&quot; of the H2020 <a href="http://innorbit.eu">InnORBIT project</a>.</p> <p>The aim of this study was to identify and explore the available and missing skills of innovation intermediaries to provide business support services to innovators within their local ecosystems to develop commercial activity in space. The assessment of skills was based on a baseline framework encompassing a wide array of skills and competencies innovation intermediaries are supposed to possess in order to provide effective business support services to space innovators. The skills of the baseline framework are&nbsp;grouped into five broad categories: (i) space industry knowledge, (ii) business assessment knowledge, (iii) business support skills, (iv) organisational and digital skills and (v) soft skills. The baseline framework was originally developed by the InnORBIT consortium through research in related works of EU&nbsp;funded projects and publications and validated through a series of 15 interviews with top-level executives of organisations across the CEE and SEE area,&nbsp;belonging to the two target groups of the study (i.e., innovation intermediaries and innovators). An online survey was deployed from May 26th to June 18th using the EU Survey tool, to innovation intermediaries and innovators across the EU and CEE/SEE countries in particular.&nbsp;Two online questionnaires were developed building on the baseline skills framework - the first intended for innovation intermediaries asking them to perform a self-assessment of their skills in terms of providing business support services and the second targeting innovators, asking them to state their perception on how innovation intermediaries they have worked with, perform in each of the skills.</p> <p>The dataset contains four files:</p> <p>1. Zip file including the transcripts from 6&nbsp;interviews with space innovators in Eastern Europe for the evaluation of the baseline framework of skills.</p> <p>2. Zip file including the transcripts from 9 interviews with innovation intermediaries in Eastern Europe for the evaluation of the baseline framework of skills.</p> <p>3. a pdf file of the digital&nbsp;questionnaires developed in EU Survey deployed to innovation intermediaries and innovators in the region</p> <p>4. An excel file with&nbsp;104 valid responses collected from the online survey (56 innovation intermediaries and 48 innovators) across 16 EU countries / 21 countries total.</p> <p>The dataset contains only non-sensitive anonymised information and is in full compliance with the GDPR provisions. Any information&nbsp;leading to the identification of participants in activities (interviews, survey) is either modified or omitted and deonted with brackets.</p>

<p>Anno 2017 the task of mobilizing data from biocollections ahead of us is still enormous (data of 90% of the biocollections still needs to be mobilized). It is imperative for stakeholders, individual keepers of natural science collections, the community at large, and even for funding agencies, not only to tackle this backlog as quickly as possible, but do it in the best possible order. To establish the best possible order for digitizing biocollections a demand driven framework is required based among others on criteria used to digitize biocollections.</p>
