OSIRIS Ozone v5.07
<p>OSIRIS spectra of limb scattered sunlight are used to retrieve ozone number density vertical profiles over the altitude range from 10 to 60 km at a vertical resolution of approximately 1.5 km using the a Multiplicative Algebraic Reconstruction Technique, which is a one dimensional modification of a two-dimensional tomographic retrieval algorithm. This technique allows for the consistent merging of the absorption information from radiance measurements at wavelengths in the Chappuis and the Hartley-Huggins bands at each iteration of the inversion. A set of weighting factors is used to determine the importance of each line of sight and each element of the measurement vector for the retrieved state at each altitude. Retrieval algorithm details can be found in <a href="https://www.atmos-chem-phys.net/9/6521/2009/">Degenstein et al., 2009</a>.</p> <p>Version 5.07, which does not implement a tangent altitude registration correction algorithm has been superceeded by version 5.10.</p>
OSIRIS Stratospheric Temperature
<p>OSIRIS spectra of limb scattered sunlight are used to retrieve vertical profiles of temperature over the altitude range from 35 to 60 km at a vertical resolution of approximately 3-3.5 km.</p> <p>Version 7.3 is the newest release of the OSIRIS Level 2 temperature product. Each file contains one month of data.</p>
God Osiris
The god Osiris of ancient Egyptian mythology is described as the King of the Underworld, responsible for judging the dead and welcoming those deemed righteous into the afterlife. He became a powerful symbol of death, resurrection, and immortality. His power and divinity are represented by his funeral wrappings for mummification—a process reserved for pharaohs and the higher classes—and his crook and flail, which symbolized pharaonic authority. Ancient Egyptians would place symbols of Osiris on coffins and say prayers in his name for the dead, hoping to earn protection for the deceased in the afterlife. <p>This repository contains data files needed to run the Osiris package. More information on these data files can be found on the <a href="https://github.com/JGCRI/osiris">Osiris GitHub page</a>.</p> <p>The file in the <em>climate_data</em> folder is from the ACCESS-ESM1-5 model, a fully-coupled global climate model. More information can be found <a href="https://github.com/ACCESS-NRI/ACCESS-ESM1.5">here</a>. The Osiris package is designed to function with this climate data. If a different set of climate data are used, it may need to be regridded to conform to the same format as ACCESS-ESM1-5. Feel free to start an issue on the GitHub page or contact the author (Hamza) for help needed to integrate your climate data into Osiris.</p> <p>The <em>yield_response_fcns</em> folder has the LPJmL crop model files. The Osiris package is currently built for use of this crop yield emulator.</p>

[From the mission website](https://www.asteroidmission.org/?latest-news=osiris-rex-tags-asteroid-bennu): > Captured on Oct. 20, 2020 during the OSIRIS-REx mission's Touch-And-Go (TAG) sample collection event, this series of images shows the SamCam imager's field of view as the NASA spacecraft approaches and touches down on asteroid Bennu's surface, over 200 million miles (321 million km) away from Earth. The sampling event brought the spacecraft all the way down to sample site Nightingale, touching down within three feet (one meter) of the targeted location. The team on Earth received confirmation at 6:08 pm EDT that successful touchdown occurred.
