Gault2015_Georeffed_PointClouds&Meshes

The Gault Site (421BL323) is a multi-component site with virtually every interval in the regional prehistoric record represented. Deposits in different parts of the site result from various mixes of anthropic and geologic processes (fluvial, colluvial, aeolian) as well as pedogenesis. At this site, Dr. Michael Collins and Dr. Bruce Bradley collaborated with SPARC researchers to undertake high-resolution scanning and photogrammetric documentation of an exposed stratigraphy in a 3-m thick section significant for its long archaeological record and particularly for the presence of a substantial pre-Clovis component , situated stratigraphically below Clovis and dated with OSL on aeolian grains from ca. 16,000 to 13,200. As is true of all sites claiming to have evidence for older-than-Clovis occupation, Gault was subjected to intense scrutiny, and supports future independent research on the evidence is seen as essential by the co-PIs. Site formation processes are at the heart of the evidence for integrity of the stratigraphic section, with its pre-Clovis component underlying its Clovis component. Therefore the morphology and topography of the excavated area were recorded carefully, as part of an effort to create the fullest and most detailed possible documentation of the site’s stratigraphy. The results of this project formed the primary framework for integrating all of the broader project’s geologic observations and sampling results.

This project aimed to provide 3D data for the Gault Area 15 excavation, with particular attention paid to the trench and the bedrock. It contains raw and processed laser scanning data captured using a Leica C10 and processed in Leica Cyclone. It also includes photogrammetric data captured using a Samsung NX 2000 DSLR camera and processed in Agisoft Photoscan Pro.

This upload contains the raw laser scanning data for each station. Each .zip file contains the complete raw data for each station as well as a FileList.txt file indexing all files included in the .zip file.

This research was supported by the National Science Foundation, Abell-Hanger Foundation, ExxonMobil Foundation, Archaeological Institute of America, Summerlee Foundation, and Texas Historical Foundation along with numerous individuals.

Rocktopo Sensing Mountains Summer School 2024: UAV images, pointcloud and TLS pointclouds

This dataset contains high-resolution 3D scans of an outdoor rock climbing wall, captured using both Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry and Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS). The dataset includes images from the UAV, the reconstructed point cloud derived from photogrammetry, and the point cloud from TLS. These scans were conducted on the following dates:

The used TLS was a Trimble X7 and the UAV a DJI Spark.

TLS (Terrestrial Laser Scanning): Provided in
TLS_240924
or
TLS_240925
, this folder contains the point cloud data captured via TLS, offering highly accurate and detailed 3D geometry of the climbing wall surface. In LAS format.

UAV Images: Stored in
UAV_240924
or
UAV_240925
, these subdirectories contain a set of aerial images taken from the UAV, which were later used to reconstruct the 3D point cloud of the rock climbing wall. In JPEG format.

Photogrammetric Point Cloud (LAS): The resulting 3D point cloud from UAV photogrammetry is stored in
LAS_240924
or
LAS_240925
. These files represent the spatial data and geometry derived from processing the UAV images using photogrammetry techniques. In LAS format.

Aligned Point Cloud (ICP): The ICP aligned clouds that were used for analysis are stored in
ICP
. These files represent the spatial data and geometry derived from aligning the TLS and UAV clouds. In LAS format.

Potree Point Cloud (folder): Octree converted pointclouds used in the Potree rocktopo visualization.

Route Points: Polylines of every route in the lower location, in .poly (x y z) format.

The combination of both photogrammetric and laser scanning data provides a comprehensive and high-fidelity 3D representation of the climbing wall, useful for geospatial analysis, surface reconstruction, and outdoor modeling applications. The pointclouds are not georeferenced.

Please note: the TLS and UAV were taken simultaneously: the same location is therefore: UAV/LAS_240924 fits with TLS_250924 and vice-versa.

Swiss3DCities: Aerial Photogrammetric 3D Pointcloud Dataset with Semantic Labels

We introduce a new outdoor urban 3D pointcloud dataset, covering a total area of 2.7 km2, sampled from three Swiss cities with different characteristics. The dataset is manually annotated for semantic segmentation with per-point labels, and is built using photogrammetry from images acquired by multirotors equipped with high-resolution cameras. In contrast to datasets acquired with ground LiDAR sensors, the resulting point clouds are uniformly dense and complete, and are useful to disparate applications, including autonomous driving, gaming, smart city planning, and robotics.

Minecraft AngkorWat PointCloud Test

Expanded and finished my previous cambodian minecraft build, but can't find an easy way to export the modded blocks. So I tried using the photogrammetry method and made a point cloud scene with 64 ingame screenshots. This was also my first time trying out photogrammetry, so sorry if the scan is bad. Bimaristan Nur Al Din, Pointcloud uniform

Lidar data, from open heritage. Uniform and clean point cloud. Over eight centuries old, the Bimaristan Nur al-Din, is the earliest surviving site for the development of Islamic medicine. Throughout the building's lifetime, the site has functioned as a medical school as well as a place of healing in the heart of the old city of Damascus. Built in 1154, the building is characterized by its red brick muqarnas, elaborate entrance block, and finely carved wooden doors. The hospital was in use until the 20th century when it was converted into a Museum of Arabic Medicine and Science. The preservation of the building is a reminder of the major contributions of Islamic medicine to the world today.
