Figure 2: Entire isolation call from the leucistic pup. The multisyllabic call is composed of three different syllable types: (vs) variable simple syllables, end syllables which include the composite syllable type (cs) and the short stereotyped syllable type (ss). The composite syllable type is composed of two parts, a noisy part which is facultative (nc), connected to a tonal part (tc). The spectrogram depicts frequency (kHz) as a function of time and was generated using a 1042 point-fast Fourier transform with a Hamming window with 50 % overlap. Above the spectrogram, the oscillogram is depicted, displaying time on the x-axis and amplitude on the y-axis. Nomenclature follows (Fernandez and KnÖrnschild 2017).
