Galactic chemical evolution of the solar neighborhood, solar twins and exoplanet indicators

<p>Galactic chemical evolution (GCE), solar analogues or twins, and peculiarities of<br> the solar composition with respect to the twins are inextricably related.<br> We examine GCE parameters from the literature and present newly derived values<br> using a quadratic fit that gives zero for a Solar age (i.e. 4.6 Gyr).&nbsp;<br> We show how the GCE parameters may be used not only to ``correct&#39;&#39; abundances<br> to the solar age, but to predict {\bf average} relative elemental&nbsp;<br> abundances as a function of age.&nbsp;<br> We address the question of whether the solar abundances<br> are depleted in refractories and enhanced in volatiles and<br> find that the answer is sensitive to the selection of a<br> representative standard. &nbsp; Our best quality data sets do<br> not support the notion that the Sun is depleted in refractories. &nbsp;<br> A simple model allows us to estimate<br> the amount of refractory-rich material missing from the sun<br> or alternately added to the average solar twin. &nbsp; The model<br> gives between zero and 1.4 earth masses. &nbsp; &nbsp;<br> &nbsp;</p>

Electron concentration profiles calculated using different plasma chemical models during solar X-ray flares

<p>The files contain electron concentration <em>Ne</em> profiles during solar X-ray flares&nbsp;that occurred on&nbsp;24-25 October 2013 and 9-11&nbsp;June 2014. The altitude range is 50-90 km.</p> <p>Values of&nbsp;electron concentration were calculated using four-, five- and eight-component models of the ionospheric D-region. Results are obtained&nbsp;on four VLF paths: from European transmitters ICV, FTA, GQD, DHO to Mikhnevo geophysical observatory (55&deg;N 38&deg;E).</p> <p>The data is presented as MATLAB files. Each .mat file&nbsp;contains data and&nbsp;variable &quot;description&quot; with data&#39;s structure information.</p>

Sonora Cholla: A Grid of Cloud-free, Solar Metallicity Models in Chemical Disequilibrium for the JWST Era

<p>Exoplanet and brown dwarf atmospheres commonly show signs of disequilibrium chemistry. In the James Webb Space Telescope&nbsp;era high resolution spectra of directly &nbsp;imaged exoplanets will allow the characterization of their atmospheres in more detail, and allow systematic tests for the &nbsp;presence of chemical species that deviate from thermochemical equilibrium in these atmospheres. Constraining &nbsp;the presence of disequilibrium chemistry in these atmospheres as a function of parameters &nbsp;such as their effective temperature and surface gravity will allow us to &nbsp;place better constrains in the physics governing these atmospheres.</p> <p>This database&nbsp;contains&nbsp;a grid of cloud-free, solar metallicity &nbsp;atmospheres for brown dwarfs and wide separation giant planets with key molecular species such as&nbsp;CH4, H2O, CO and NH3 &nbsp;in disequilibrium. The grid covers atmospheres with Teff~[500 K,1300 K], log<em>g</em>~[3.0,5.5] (cgs) and an eddy diffusion parameter &nbsp;of log Kzz=2, 4 and 7 (cgs). A description of the code and a study of the effect of different parameters&nbsp;within the grid on the temperature and composition profiles of our atmospheres is presented in the accompanying paper &quot; The Sonora Substellar Atmosphere Models. II.&nbsp;Cholla: A Grid of Cloud-free, Solar &nbsp;Metallicity Models in Chemical Disequilibrium for the<em> JWST&nbsp;</em>Era&quot; (accepted to ApJ, Oct. 2021)</p>
