Children speech recording (English, spontaneous speech + pre-defined sentences)
<p>The dataset contains audio recordings (lossless WAV) of 11 young children (age M=4.9 years old; 5 females, 6 males).</p> <p>Recordings include:</p> <ul> <li>free speech (retelling a picture book, ‘Frog, Where Are You?’ by Mercer Mayer)</li> <li>repeating 5 pre-defined short sentences (like 'the horse is in the stable')</li> <li>telling the numbers from 1 to 10</li> </ul> <p>The recordings are in English and the participants include both native and non-native speakers.</p> <p>Each sample is recorded from 3 sources:</p> <ul> <li>A studio-grade microphone (Rode NT1-A)</li> <li>A portable microphone (Zoom H1)</li> <li>The two front microphones of the Aldebaran NAO robot</li> </ul> <p>(note that, due to technical issues, a few (sample/microphone) combinations are missing).</p> <p> </p> <p>For the free-speech recording, a manual segmentation of the utterances is provided as well.</p>
Characterization of cefiderocol resistant spontaneous mutant variants of Klebsiella pneumoniae producing NDM-5 with single mutation in cirA
<p>Cefiderocol (CFDC) is a siderophore-cephalosporin antibiotic designed to combat highly resistant Gram-negative bacterial infections. Its mechanism involves a strong affinity for iron and active transport into bacterial cells, providing an alternative against strains resistant to common antibiotics. However, the emergence of CFDC resistance in Klebsiella is a growing concern. Recent reports highlight increasing CFDC resistance in K. pneumoniae, particularly associated with mutations in the cirA gene, responsible for encoding a siderophore receptor. Co-localization of blaNDM-like gene and cirA mutations correlates with higher CFDC resistance. The study focuses on a carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae strain (Kp-1) with carbapenemases blaNDM-5 and blaOXA-181, recovered from a post-surgery patient. The strain exhibited resistance to all tested antibiotics but susceptibility to CFDC. Heteroresistant populations with the halo on inhibition of CFDC were observed. Genomic analysis identified a novel mutation (W123*) in the cirA gene associated with CFDC resistance. Additionally, increased blaNDM-5 expression in Kp-1 IHC (intra-halo colony) compared to Kp-1 was noted. The coexistence of blaNDM-like and cirA variants, along with high blaNDM-5 expression, explains the observed 21-fold increase in Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) in Kp-1 IHC. The study contributes to understanding the molecular mechanisms driving the emergence of cefiderocol resistance, emphasizing the significance of coexisting mutations in cirA and blaNDM-like genes.</p>

Spontaneous motor tempo over the course of a week: The role of the time of the day, chronotype, and arousal
<p>The spontaneous motor tempo (SMT) or internal tempo describes the natural pace of predictive and emergent movements such as walking or hand clapping. One of the main research interests in the study of the spontaneous motor tempo relates to factors affecting its pace. Previous studies suggest an influence of the circadian rhythm (i.e., 24-h cycle of the biological clock), physiological arousal changes, and potentially also musical experience. This study aimed at investigating these effects in participants‘ everyday life by measuring their SMT four times a day over seven consecutive days, using an experience sampling method. The pace of the SMT was assessed with a finger-tapping paradigm in a selfdeveloped web application. Measured as the inter-tap interval, the overall mean SMT was 650 ms (SD = 253 ms). Using multi-level modelling (MLM), results show that the pace of the SMT sped up over the course of the day, and that this effect depended on the participants’ chronotype, since participants tending towards morning type were faster in the morning compared to participants tending towards evening type. During the day, the pace of the SMT of morning types stayed relatively constant, whereas it became faster for evening-type participants. Furthermore, higher arousal in participants led to a faster pace of the SMT. Musical sophistication did not influence the SMT. These results indicate that the circadian rhythm influences the internal tempo, since the pace of SMT is not only dependent on the time of the day, but also on the individual entrainment to the 24-h cycle (chronotype).</p>

<p>This is the oral cancer speech corpus used in the paper <em>"Detecting and analysing spontaneous oral cancer speech in the wild".</em></p> <p><strong>Description</strong></p> <p>This dataset contains approximately 3 hours of oral cancer speech data collected from YouTube, including a file with additional metadata.
