The connection to the public's preferred sports analysis and physical education curriculum

<p>People have their favorite type of sport, but such preferences tend to be shared for nearly a lifetime. How this preference persists remains inconclusive; hence, this study attempts to determine why people have different viewpoints on sports. It is reasonable to infer that these differences arise from differences in culture, occupation, and race. Therefore, we collected the following data and conducted research in Korea, the United States, and Japan, countries with various differences. The types of sports that people play were collected through surveys and comparisons among sports networks. Namely, &ldquo;Sport Classification,&rdquo; &ldquo;The K-12 Physical Education System (textbooks),&rdquo; &ldquo;Survey (actual physical activity),&rdquo; &ldquo;Simple Notification Service (SNS) Activity&rdquo; have been examined to deduce the reason why any particular sport is played. Firstly, Korea, the United States, and Japan conduct different physical education courses. Hence, the results affect people&#39;s preferences. Secondly, what people post on SNS and their actual physical activities are different. Thirdly, the degree of connection between sports-type varied as well. Lastly, sports that serve the purpose of being regarded as hubs among sports-type were common in Korea, the United States, and Japan.<br> &nbsp;</p>

GHRSST Level 4 SPoRT Global Foundation Sea Surface Temperature Analysis (v1.0)

The GHRSST Level 4 SPoRT Global Foundation Sea Surface Temperature Analysis (v1.0) dataset is produced by the by the NASA Short-term Prediction Research and Transition (SPoRT) project to provide continuous high-resolution composited near global (80N – 80S) sea surface temperature fields twice daily at 2 km resolution for regional weather, maritime, and coastal applications. <br><br>It was originally a regional L4 dataset based on MODIS Aqua/Terra Level 2 SST inputs. Currently, the SPoRT SST analysis composites seven-days of Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) and Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) satellite L2 SST data, with additional data from OSTIA and Geo-Polar Blended L4 SST products into a single analysis. Two types of weighting are used in the compositing process. One weight is for the data latency and the other for the product type and spatial resolution. The VIIRS and AVHRR data, being at 750m and 1km resolution respectively, are given the most weight, while the L4 datasets are given weaker weights. <br><br>This SPoRT SST dataset adheres to the GHRSST Data Specification (GDS) version 2 format specifications with full netCDF-4 and metadata compliance. The SPoRT project is funded by NASA and the data produced at the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.

Identifying profiles of parental (de)motivating behaviors in youth sports through cluster analysis: A Multi-informant Approach

<p>Based on the perceptions of 331 youth athletes (<em>M</em><sub>age</sub>=14.33) and their most involved parent (<em>M</em><sub>age</sub> = 45.96), this study examined whether different profiles of parental behavior (i.e.,autonomy, competence, and relatedness supportive and thwarting) can be identified, to what extent these profiles match between the perceptions of athletes and parents, and how these profiles relate to youth athletes&rsquo; need-based experiences, (a)motivation, (dis)engagement, and anxiety regarding their sports participation. Cluster analysis identified four parental profiles based on both athlete and parent perceptions: parents who are relatively (1) need-supportive, (2) need-thwarting, (3) predominantly controlling, and (4) distant. In general, parents rated themselves as more motivating and less demotivating compared to the athlete&rsquo;s perception. Moreover, parents&#39; self-assessment had little to no predictive power in terms of the athlete&rsquo;s sports experience. However, athletes who perceived their parents as need-supportive displayed the most adaptive outcomes, whereas the opposite was true for the need-thwarting profile. The two other profiles were situated in between, with athletes in the predominantly controlling profile scoring high on both the adaptive and maladaptive outcomes, and athletes in the distant profile scoring low on the maladaptive outcomes but not necessarily high on the adaptive outcomes.</p>
