THE EVOLUTION OF EDUCATION FROM TRADITIONS TO FORMAL SYSTEMS UNDER THE RANA REGIME IN NEPAL

This study examines the historical evolution of education in Nepal, particularly focusing on the transition from non-formal to formal education during the Rana period (1846–1951). The purpose of the study is to analyze how education, initially confined to family traditions and religious teachings, was systematically introduced by the Ranas, primarily for their own elite class, while public education was deliberately suppressed to maintain political control. Utilizing a qualitative research design, data was collected from secondary sources including books, articles, and online databases, and analyzed using descriptive, analytical, and historical methods. The findings highlight that while Junga Bahadur Rana initiated formal education following his visit to Britain, these efforts were limited to benefiting the Rana family. Subsequent rulers made minimal reforms under external pressure, yet the overall Rana regime left Nepal largely illiterate, with two generations deprived of educational opportunities. The study underscores the need for further exploration of the long-term impacts of this suppression on Nepal’s socio-economic development and suggests that future research could investigate the post-Rana educational reforms and their role in shaping modern Nepalese society.

Additional Data: Mapping the Evolution of Computational Thinking in Education: A Bibliometrics Analysis of Scopus Database from 1987 to 2023

The following is a selection of figures and tables from a bibliometric study that will be released later. The title of this study is Mapping the Evolution of Computational Thinking in Education: A Bibliometrics Analysis of Scopus Database from 1987 to 2023.

In the online listing of the appendix, we will find three figures (Figure 5, Figure 6, and Figure 12) and three tables (Table 3, Table 4, and Table 4), also several references related to this research. It was important to us that the core of the study that is now being carried out not be diminished in any way, which is why we chose the photos and tables we did. This study was conceived and supported by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), which the Ministry of Finance administers in the Republic of Indonesia, to evaluate current trends and research problems in computational thinking for education. The Scopus database was used, and its range of coverage was from 1987 to 2023.

Global evolution of educational marketing in the digital age: A bibliometric analysis of its impact on student satisfaction

Educational marketing has emerged as a crucial strategy to improve student satisfaction in an increasingly competitive and globalized academic environment. This bibliometric research aimed to analyze the evolution and trends in the scientific literature on educational marketing as a strategy for student satisfaction. A qualitative and descriptive approach with a non-experimental and longitudinal design was used. The study analyzed 201 documents extracted from Scopus, using bibliometric techniques implemented through VOSviewer and Bibliometrix. The results reveal an annual growth of 10.51% in scientific production, with significant contributions from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and India, as well as a growing participation of Latin American countries. A core of specialized journals leading publication in this field was identified. Keyword co-occurrence analysis highlighted central themes such as higher education, e-learning and student satisfaction. The research shows an expanding interdisciplinary field, with approaches that address internationalization, the use of digital technologies and the personalization of educational services. It is concluded that educational marketing is an effective strategic tool to improve student satisfaction, retention and academic performance, highlighting the need to adapt these strategies to the rapid technological and social changes in the educational sector.
