IEEE ICME 2024 Grand Challenge: Semi-supervised Acoustic Scene Classification under Domain Shift Evaluation Dataset

The Chinese Acoustic Scene (CAS) 2023 dataset is a large-scale dataset that serves as a foundation for research related to environmental acoustic scenes. The dataset includes 10 common acoustic scenes, with a total duration of over 130 hours. Each audio clip is 10 seconds long with metadata about the recording location and timestamp. The dataset was collected by members of the Joint Laboratory of Environmental Sound Sensing at the School of Marine Science and Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University. The data collection period spanned from April 2023 to September 2023, covering 22 different cities across China. The CAS 2023 dataset was collected using the XS-SN-2BE1 manufactured by Xi'an Lianfeng Acoustic Technologies Co., Ltd (https://www.lfxstek.com/).

The ICME 2024 Semi-supervised Acoustic Scene Classification under Domain Shift challenge (https://2024.ieeeicme.org/grand-challenge-proposals/, https://ascchallenge.xshengyun.com/) dataset consists of development (https://zenodo.org/records/10616533) and evaluation datasets, all derived from the CAS 2023 dataset. The evaluation dataset includes 1,100 recordings, where data are selected from 12 cities, with 5 unseen cities specifically chosen to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of submissions under domain shift.

Baseline: https://github.com/JishengBai/ICME2024ASC

Acoustic scenes (10): Bus, Airport, Metro, Restaurant, Shopping mall, Public square, Urban park, Traffic street, Construction site, Bar

Article: Modeling Mouse ICM - Partial Data Bank

Our study presents a spatial-stochastic model for the gene regulatory network (GRN) and the signaling pathway governing cell-fate differentiation during early mouse embryogenesis, specifically at the blastocyst stage. Departing from biophysics-based models of gene regulation, we perform stochastic simulations of the biochemical processes driving early mouse embryogenesis both at the cell and tissue level. Combining these simulations with state-of-the-art AI-aided inference techniques, we successfully parameterize our model, replicating key experimental observations and providing mechanistic insights into the biochemical interactions giving rise to them. Thanks to the stochastic nature of our approach, we quantify the high robustness of ICM specification to various kinds of noise, and provide quantitative predictions for the effects of diverse experimentally testable perturbations. Altogether, we provide a deeper understanding of the intricate mechanisms driving early cell-fate decisions in mouse embryogenesis, highlighting the synergy of local cellular and broader tissue-scale interactions that shape development.

Plenary and Invited Speakers of the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM)

This file contains information on plenary and invited speakers of the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM). All speaker names and congress dates up to the ICM-2014 were extracted programmatically in February 2018 from the Wikipedia website ‘List of International Congresses of Mathematicians Plenary and Invited Speakers’ (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_International_Congresses_of_Mathematicians_Plenary_and_Invited_Speakers). The data was further enriched with gender, country of citizenship, date of birth and employer using Wikidata. For speakers invited to the ICM 2018 in Rio de Janeiro, we extracted their names, country of citizenship and the ICM sections of their talks from the official ICM 2018 website.

Using the Python package gender-guesser the gender of the speakers was inferred using their forenames when this information was missing. For speakers whose names are not highly correlated with only one gender (across different countries and languages), and for which gender-guesser hence did not produce a definite gender assignment, this information was filled manually, mainly based on field knowledge and Internet research. The assignment of talks to ICM sections was performed using data from the International Mathematical Union (https://www.mathunion.org/icm-plenary-and-invited-speakers). For various authors, in particular for all women, missing demographic information was filled manually.
