Harmful algal bloom and aquatic weeds data from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, collected to evaluate the impact of the 2021 Temporary Urgency Change Order and Emergency Drought Barrier
Condition 8 of the June 2021 Temporary Urgency Change Order for the Central Valley Project (CVP) and State Water Project (SWP) requires a special study of harmful algal blooms (HABs) in the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta (Delta) and the spread of submersed aquatic vegetation (SAV), and floating aquatic vegetation (FAV), also referred to as “aquatic weeds”. A report on the study was submitted to the State Water Resources Control Board on June 1, 2022. This data package contains all publicly available data used in the report, including visual cyanobacteria reports, cyanotoxin data, water quality, nutrients, flow/hydrodynamics, chlorophyll-a concentrations, temperature, coverage of SAV and FAV, use of herbicides, and human populations. Many of these data were derived from other datasets, though some were collected specifically for this study

Global dataset for evaluating impact of topographic factors on hydrologic response to climate variability
<p>The dataset contained here was used to document the biomes in the world that show high sensitivity in their hydrologic response to interannual changes in climatic forcing during the 2001-2016 period, while evaluating the role of major topoclimatic factors in modulating these responses. To do this we generated a hydrologic sensitivity index (HSi). HSi evaluates the absolute ratio between the changes of the climatic conditions (dryness index, DI) and hydrologic response (evaporative index, EI<sub>R</sub>) between consecutive years (e.g. HSi= |∆ EI<sub>R</sub> /∆ DI|). HSi was computed for every successive pair of years from 2001 to 2016. A total of 15 HSi maps were obtained representing the HSi for each consecutive pair of years. For each map, where HSi >1, regions are classified as <strong><em>Sensitive</em></strong> and for HSi ≤1, <strong><em>Resilient</em></strong>. To provide a synthesis of the general trend of global hydrologic sensitivity, we display the frequency of HSi, showing the recurrence of HSi >1 for every non-ocean location with a range of 0 (low frequency) to 15 (high frequency). Regions where frequency HSi≥7 are considered highly recurring and as such are deemed as the most hydrologically sensitive. </p> <p><strong>This dataset includes the code and raster data to evaluate the effect of the topography on HSi to plot the average frequency HSi for all elevations, aspects, and slope steepness against latitudinal change.</strong> We used global digital elevation models (DEMS) from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data (90 m resolution; version 4, for latitudes < 60◦ N and GTOPO30 (1◦ resolution; http://lta.cr.usgs.gov/GTOPO30) for latitudes > 60◦ N. Slope and aspect maps were derived from the DEMs using standard GIS-based methods in ArcMap 10.7.Elevation range used is [0,7000] meters above sea level (m.a.s.l), aspect (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW) specifically above slope values greater than 10-degrees (no flat areas used), and slope [0,90] degrees.</p> <p><strong>Contents:</strong></p> <ul> <li>1 MATLAB with the code ready to use</li> <li>1 PDF file with the same code</li> <li>27 geotiff files for elevation (dem#1-27.tif)</li> <li>27 geotiff files for frequency HSi (freq#1-27.tif) </li> </ul> <p>Note: the following files of slope and aspect could not upload in repository due to exceedance in storage limit: 50MG. The final concentration of siRNA per well was 1pmol and the final volume of RNAiMAX per well was 75nL for HCC1143, and 37.5nL for HCC1806 or MDA-MB-468 in 100uL of cell containing volume. 24 hours after siRNA transfection cells were treated with an addition of 100uL complete media containing either DMSO vehicle control or paclitaxel. </div> <div> </div> <div>Fixed-cell assays: Cells were plated at 3000 cells in 100ul of complete media per well in a 96 well plate (#08-772-225, FisherScientific). After 24 hours, an additional 100ul of either vehicle (0.1% DMSO) or paclitaxel containing complete media was added. After 72 hours cells were fixed with 4% Formaldehyde (#28908, ThermoFisher Scientific) for 15 minutes at room temperature, then permeabilized with 0.3% Triton X-100 (#X100-100ML, Sigma Aldrich) for 10 minutes at room temperature, then washed twice with PBS. Fixed cells were then stained with 0.5ug/mL DAPI (4083S, Cell Signaling Technology) in PBS for 15 minutes at room temperature. Following DAPI staining, wells were washed once with PBS, then stained with 1:20,000 HCS CellMask Green in PBS (H32714, Invitrogen) for 15 minutes at room temperature. Wells were washed twice with room temperature PBS and then 4 fields of view per well imaged on an InCell 6000 (GE Healthcare). Images were segmented with two custom Cellpose models to segment the nucleus (using parameters: diameter = 50, chan = DAPI, chan2 = Cellmask Orange) and cytoplasm (using parameters: diameter = 90, chan = Cellmask Orange, chan2 = DAPI). Image quantification was performed in R (v4.3.1) using EBImage (v4.42.0), and cells were annotated based on the number of distinct nuclei segmented within each cytoplasmic mask. </div> <div> </div> <div>HDHB reporter live-cell assays: siRNA knockdown and drug treatment was performed as described above, and then the plate was loaded on an Incucyte S3 (Sartorious) and cells imaged every 15 minutes for 72 hours post drug treatment. At each timepoint 4 fields of view were captured at 20x magnificantion in each well using the phase, red and green channels. A cytoplasmic mask was computed from the mean of normalized red/green channel (cellpose parameters: diameter = 57, chan = mean(normalized(red), normalized(green)), and a nuclear mask was computed from the red channel (cellpose parameters: diameter = 30, chan = DAPI) using custom trained Cellpose models. Image quantification was performed in R (v4.3.1) using EBImage (v4.42.0). An additional perinuclear ring mask was computed as the 11 pixel dilation from the nuclear mask, but still bound by the cytoplasmic mask. To determine mClover localization thresholds for cell cycle assignment, 250 cell images were randomly selected and manually assigned to the G1, S/G2 or M cell cycle state based on mClover localization. The mClover intensity ratios were then used to determine thresholds for automated cell cycle phase calling which was applied to the rest of the data set (Supplemental Figure 5A). Mononuclear cells with a Perinuclear:Nuclear mean intensity ratio greater than 0.8 and Nuclear:Cytoplasmic total intensity less than 0.5 were assigned to the S/G2 phase. Mononuclear and Multinuclear cells with a Nuclear:Cytoplasmic total intensity ratio greater than 0.8 and Perinuclear:Nuclear mean intensity ratio less than 0.8 were assigned to the ‘M’ phase. Cluster randomized controlled trial evaluating the impact on children's linear growth of an unconditional cash transfer program implemented in rural areas of North Togo

In vitro Evaluation of Biofield Treatment on Enterobacter cloacae: Impact on Antimicrobial Susceptibility and Biotype
<p>This research work investigated the influence of biofield treatment on <em>Enterobacter cloacae</em> (ATCC 13047) against antimicrobial susceptibility. Two sets of ATCC samples were taken in this experiment and denoted as A and B. ATCC A sample was revived and divided into two parts Gr. I (control) and Gr. II (revived); likewise, ATCC B was labeled as Gr. III (lyophilized). Group II and III were given with biofield treatment. The control and treatment groups of E. cloacae cells were tested with respect to antimicrobial susceptibility, biochemical reactions pattern and biotype number. The result showed significant decrease in the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of aztreonam and ceftazidime (≤ 8 μg/mL), as compared to control group (≥ 16 μg/mL). It was observed that 9% reaction was altered in the treated groups with respect to control out of the 33 biochemical reactions. Moreover, biotype number of this organism was substantially changed in group II (7731 7376) and group III (7710 3176) on day 10 as compared to control (7710 3376). Train and Evaluation Code, Road Classification Models and Test set of the paper "Impact of Image Resolution and Image Overlap on the Prediction Performance of Convolutional Neural Networks Trained for Road Classification"
<p>This repository contains the Python scripts built for training and evaluation of the implementation, together with the test data and the resulting road classification models corresponding to the paper "Impact of Image Resolution and Image Overlap on the Prediction Performance of Convolutional Neural Networks Trained for Road Classification". The scripts make use of the Tensorflow with Keras framework and the additional required dependencies.</p> <p>The training and validation set is based on the binary SROADEX dataset (https://zenodo.org/records/6482346) that was re-split into tiles that feature the image resolutions (256 x 256, 512 x 512, and 1024 x 1024 pixels) and image overlaps (0% and 12.5%) considered in this study. The data have been generated using scripts developed in Python using Open Source libraries (GDAL/OGR and MapScript) for rasterization of vector cartography that represents the axes of the different types of roads (urban, interurban and rural). This binary road data contains information from 16 full orthoimages (28.5 km * 18.5 km) with spatial resolution of 0.5 m/pixel from the insular and peninsular Spanish territory. Due to the size on disk of approximately 546 gigabytes, this training and validation data is only available upon request from the corresponding author. The test set has been generated from a novel area of 28.5 km * 18.5 km and features binary road labels. The test sets are provided in the repository for each resolution (with no overlap), so that additional DL models can be evaluated on the same data and compared with the results achieved in this study.</p> <p>The structure of the information shared in this repository is as follows:<br>The scripts have been grouped by tile resolution (256, 512 and 1024). First, the test set and the evaluation script can be found. For each tile resolution, there are two subfolders (corresponding to the "no overlap" and "12.5% overlap"). In each case, the Python scripts for training the models in the three repetitions are shared, and the trained models (H5 format) are shared in compressed form. Finally, for each resolution we also share the testing dataset which consists of two folders.</p> <p>The material is distributed under a CC-BY 4.0 license.</p>

<p>**********<br>Can Place-Based Crime Prevention Impacts be Sustained Over Long Durations? 11-Year Follow-Up of a Quasi-Experimental Evaluation of a CCTV Project<br>**********</p> <p>The phase-specific datasets for the main and displacement analyses are contained in the “1.datasets” folder. </p> <p>The scripts used to conduct the microsynthetic control matching analyses are contained in the “2.Rscripts” folder. The subfolders “3.outputs_main” and "4.outputs_displacement" contains all graphs and tables generated by the microsynth package. Please note that running the analysis will take several hours on most computer systems.</p> <p>The Microsoft Excel file displays the results of all models conducted for this analysis. Yellow tabs contain the WDD results presented in the text of the article. Red tabs are the per-capita (quarter-year) microsynth results used to calculate WDD values. All other tabs contain the raw microsynth outputs used to calculate the per-capita results. </p>
Evaluating the Prevalence and Impact of Chronic Ankle Insta-bility in Collegiate Athletes across Various Sports: A Cross-Sectional Study.
<p>In the cross-sectional study "Evaluating the Prevalence and Impact of Chronic Ankle Instability in Collegiate Athletes across Various Sports," researchers sought to quantify how widespread chronic ankle instability (CAI) is among collegiate athletes and to determine its effects on athletic performance and training. The study involved 385 athletes from diverse sports, including basketball, soccer, track and field, swimming, and other sports, and revealed that CAI was present in nearly half of the participants. The investigation highlighted significant disparities in prevalence rates among different sports, with basketball and soccer athletes exhibiting higher rates of CAI. Furthermore, the study assessed the impact of CAI on several performance metrics such as training intensity, performance scores, and recovery times, finding that athletes with CAI generally showed lower performance levels and longer recovery times. These results emphasize the need for targeted preventive and rehabilitative strategies to mitigate the effects of CAI and support athlete health and performance.</p>
Alloy Sustainability Database - Evaluating the Economic, Environmental, and Societal Impacts of High-Entropy Alloys
<p>This database encompasses 18 elements and details over 400 high entropy alloys (HEAs), Ni-based superalloys, and steels, providing an extensive review of their properties and capabilities. To assess the broader implications of these materials, we have developed nine indicators that evaluate their economic, environmental, and human health impacts. Each indicator is meticulously described, including the methods used for their calculation. This data has been compiled with the goal of integrating considerations of societal impact into the alloy design process, thereby promoting the development of materials that are not only innovative but also socially responsible.</p>

Therefore, the objective of the study is to estimate the impact of education on the gender wage gap in Peru over the period 2017-2021.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Methods:</span></strong><span> Quantitative, explanatory study aimed at identifying the impact of education on the gender wage gap in Peru during the period 2017-2021. The research design is non-experimental and uses a time series that analyses the influence of the latent variable of education on the gender wage gap. This is a continuous variable to estimate the Tobit model.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Results:</span></strong><strong><span> </span></strong><span>The results show that the gender gap in Peru exhibited a decreasing trend between men and women during the period 2017-2020, with an average reduction of 10% until 2020 due to the health crisis. The highest average salary was achieved by men in 2019, reaching S/2289.97 soles, while women reached an average salary of S/1368.85 soles. In the post-pandemic scenario for 2021, the gender gap increased by 3%, with men earning an average salary of S/1999.63 soles and women earning an average salary of S/1281.16 soles. The analysis from 2017-2021 shows that years of education had a positive impact on the gender wage gap in Peru based on the Tobit model estimation.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Conclusions:</span></strong><strong><span> </span></strong><span>During the analysis period of 2017-2021, years of education had a positive impact on the gender wage gap in Peru, with the greatest impact occurring during the health crisis. The probability of women's incomes improving with an increase in years of education was 2.35%, while for men, the highest impact was in 2018, with a probability of income improvement of 2.16% in terms of marginal effect.</span></p>
