Data Accompanying "Fracturing process of concrete under uniaxial and triaxial compression: insights from in-situ x-ray mechanical tests"

<p>These are the datasets analysed in &quot;Fracturing process of concrete under uniaxial and triaxial compression: insights from <em>in-situ</em> x-ray &nbsp;mechanical tests&quot; by Stamati <em>et. al.</em> (submitted on June 2020 in Cement and Concrete Research)</p> <p>The datasets&nbsp;contain&nbsp;the reconstructed x-ray 3D images of selected tests and the corresponding DVC analysis.</p> <p>Note that details regarding the DVC analysis can be found in the paper.</p> <ul> <li>Each folder contains a separate test; uniaxial compression (&quot;<em>C-02&quot;</em>) and triaxial compression at 5MPa (&quot;<em>TX5-01&quot;</em>), 10MPa (&quot;T<em>X10-01</em>&quot;) and 15MPa (&quot;<em>TX15-01</em>&quot;) confining pressures.</li> <li>For each test, folder 01 contains the first scan, where 01 is the reference state for the DVC analyis. Folder 01 also contains the image of the labelled largest aggregates used for the discrete DVC. Folrders 02-XX contain the scans at intermediate loading steps and the corresponding DVC analysis; &quot;<em>reg</em>&quot; contains the registration result in downscaled 2-binning images. &quot;<em>ddic</em>&quot; contains the discrete DVC computation. &quot;<em>ldic</em>&quot; contains the local DVC computation, before and after the merge and filtering of the grid and discrete DVC fields. &quot;<em>strains</em>&quot; contains the strain fields coming from the corrected merged DVC field.</li> <li>Folder &quot;<em>stressStrain</em>&quot; contains the stress-strain curves measured during the tests after subtracting the displacement corresponding to the loading system.</li> <li>Folder &quot;<em>doubleScanUniaxial</em>&quot; contains the two reconstructed images of the &quot;repeated scan&quot; of the uniaxial tests, from which the DVC measurement uncertainties were evaluated.</li> </ul>

DFT Calculated xyz and log Files in Support of "Reaction Mechanism of Pd-catalyzed "CO-free" Carbonylation Reaction Uncovered by In situ Spectroscopy: The Formyl Mechanism"

<p>Theoretically calculated xyz and log files for hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane, methanol, methyl formate, butene, methyl pentanoate and multiple Pd-dtbpx complexes (dtbpx = 1,2-Bis(di-<em>tert</em>-butylphosphino)xylene) which catalyze the addition of HCOOMe/CO onto butene to form methyl pentanoate.</p> <p>All quantum chemical simulations were performed using the Gaussian16 software. The ground state equilibrium structures and electronic properties were obtained at the density functional (DFT) level of theory utilizing the B3LYP XC functional.The def2-SVP basis set as well as the respective core potentials were applied for all atoms. A subsequent vibrational analysis was carried out for each optimized ground state structure to verify that a minimum on the potential energy (hyper‑)surface (PES) was obtained. All calculations were performed including D3 dispersion correction with Becke-Johnson damping.</p> <p>An analogous computational setup was applied for the optimization of transition states (TSs), while an initial guess in the vicinity of the saddle point was at first obtained via the Nudged Elastic Band (NEB) method as implemented in pysisyphus with xtb.<sup> </sup>Thereafter, the TSs were obtained in Gaussian16 via the Berny algorithm, followed by a vibrational analysis to verify that a first-order saddle point on the PES was obtained.</p>

Data from: A pioneering experimental investigation of a novel in-situ dynamic characterization of the tensile/compression stress-strain mechanism on human plantar soft tissue

<p><span>We have conducted the first in-situ and in-vivo dynamic mechanical test on human plantar soft tissue. A dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA)-like device has been invented to perform the in-situ and in-vivo stress-strain tests on living plantar in order to characterize the material mechanism of biological soft tissue, whereas it is nearly impossible to prepare a sample from a living body for classical tests. A series of pioneering tests of tensile/compression on the heel of ten volunteers are reported, with the reference of tests on mimic foot model made by silicon rubber, standard silicon rubber brick sample, and finite elementary analysis. In addition to demonstrating the effectiveness of the device and approach, interesting correlations between the results and clinic data were found, suggesting considerable potential for the invention in future research.</span></p>

Data from: A multifactor coupling prediction model for the failure depth of floor rocks in fully mechanized caving mining: a numerical and in situ study

To study the mining-induced failure depth of floor rocks in a fully-mechanized mining caving field affected by different coal seam pitches, mining face lengths, burial depths and aquifer water pressures, multifactor coupled orthogonal numerical tests on the failure depth of floor rocks were conducted. The numerical results show that the failure depth of floor rocks increases with increasing mining face length, coal seam pitch and burial depth. According to the relationship between failure depth and these impact factors, a multifactor coupled prediction model for the failure depth of floor rocks was established. In addition, the in-situ measurement of the failure depth of floor rocks in the Yitang Coal Mine in Huoxi coal field in Shanxi Province, China, was performed, and the in-situ failure depths of floor rocks in the 100502 (80 m) and 100502 (180 m) mining faces were approximately 12.50~14.65 m and 17.50~19.20 m, in good agreement with the results of the multifactor prediction model. Furthermore, the sensitivity of each impact factor in the prediction model of the floor failure depth was further analysed by F-test and range analysis, and the impact order of studied factors on the floor failure depth is coal seam pitch&gt;mining face length&gt;burial depth&gt;aquifer water pressure.
