Grammatical functions, inflectional class and textual frequency in Russian nominals
<p><br>The following datasets were created for the ESRC-funded project 'Paradigms in use' (https://www.smg.surrey.ac.uk/projects/paradigms/) (RES-000-23-0082):</p> <p>The datasets are in the form of 8 EXCEL spreadsheets. The lexemes recorded in the datasets are those represented by word forms occurring in total at least five times. Lexemes occurring less than five times were excluded to avoid large standard errors in the estimates which occur when observed numbers in each category are small (Corbett, Hippisley, Brown and Marriott 2001:208).</p>

Inflected lexicon of Russian Nouns in IPA notation
<p>This inflected lexicon of Russian Nouns is based on data generated by a DATR fragment for the nominal system of Russian (Dunstan Brown et al, 2011), which was used in Brown and Hippisley (2012). The files were automatically transcribed to an IPA-based notation by Sacha Beniamine (2018), following rules provided by Dunstan Brown. We also corrected a few errors in the original data found manually. We thank Sasha krasovitsky for providing comments on the phonological feature definitions.</p>
Active season body mass patterns of Little Brown Bats and Northern Myotis: Raw and fitted mass values, environmental conditions and inflection point estimates
<p><span>Animals are expected to adjust their behavioural patterns to improve fitness outcomes, such as fecundity or offspring survival. For long-lived hibernators, decisions made in each annual cycle may reflect considerations not just for concurrent survival and reproduction, but also the pressure to maximize overwinter survival and future reproductive success. We examined how these elements manifest themselves in the body mass variation patterns of North American northern latitude temperate bats, whose size and roosting habits present considerable monitoring challenges. We characterized and compared the summer and fall mass variation patterns of little brown myotis (<em>Myotis lucifugus</em>) and northern myotis (<em>M. septentrionalis</em></span><span>) from a historic dataset. In summer, the estimated date of parturition was strongly associated with spring foraging conditions (low wind, low precipitation, warm temperatures), and mass gain associated with female reproduction conferred considerable differentiation between the mass variation patterns of females and males. In fall, differences were most apparent among species, although adults exhibited a greater capacity for rapid mass gain than juveniles. These results demonstrate how reproductive constraints and interannual survival have important influences on the behaviour of temperate bats. Future work should seek to quantify the fitness benefits of patterns identified in this study, such as the rate of prehibernation mass gain.</span></p>

Romance Verbal Inflection Dataset 2.0.0
<p>We introduce the Romance Verbal Inflection Dataset 2.0, a multilingual lexicon of Romance inflection covering 73 varieties. The lexicon provide verbal paradigm forms in broad IPA phonemic notation. Both lexemes and paradigm cells are organized to reflect cognacy. Such multi-lingual inflected lexicons annotated for two dimensions of cognacy are necessary to study the evolution of inflectional paradigms, and test linguist hypothesis systematically. However, these resources seldom exist, and when they do, they are not usually encoded in computationally usable ways. The Oxford Online Database of Romance Verb Morphology provides this kind of information, however, it is not maintained anymore and only available as a web service without interfaces for machine-readability. We collect its data and clean and correct it for consistency using both heuristics and expert annotator judgements. Most resources used to study language evolution computationally rely strictly on multilingual contemporary information, and lack information about prior stages of the languages. To provide such information, we augmented the database with Latin paradigms from the LatInFlexi lexicon. Finally, to make it widely available, the resource is released under a GPLv3 license in CLDF format.</p>
