PsPM-FER02: PSR, SCR, ECG and respiration measurements from a 3 conditions x 3 experimental sessions repeated-measures design to assess the return of fear
<p>This dataset includes pupil size response (PSR), skin conductance response (SCR), electrocardiogram (ECG) and respiration measurements. Also included are CS and US information, keypress responses, keypress response times, key correctness and shock expectancy ratings at the end of the experiment for 74 healthy unmedicated participants (33 males and 41 females aged 24.2+/-3.9 years) participating in a 3 conditions x 3 experimental sessions repeated-measures design to assess the return of fear. CS were colored triangles (yellow/red/blue). US consisted of a 500 ms train of 250 square pulses with individual pulse width of 0.2 ms. SOA between the CS onset and US was 3.5 s. CS and US co-terminated. The ITI was randomly determined as discrete values between 7-11 seconds (mean 9 seconds).</p>
Body measurements of human adults, with repeated readings
<p>This data file contains body measurements of participants of a course in morphometrics. The data are entirely anonymized and the compliance for publication of the data in the present form was obtained from each person.</p> <p>The participants were asked to measure themselves twice at intervals of one or two days, which resulted in reading a and reading b. The following measurements were taken (in mm):</p> <p>arm.l -> arm length<br> bod.h -> total body height<br> foo.l -> foot length<br> hea.c -> head circumference<br> leg.l -> leg length</p> <p>The dataset may be considered for demonstration of measurement error.</p>
Repeated and multivariate measures of perceived distance
<p>A dataset of repeated measures of distance perception at physical distances of 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 meters. The data are also multivariate, with five dependent measures of distance perception. This is a 5 (physical distance) x 5 (dependent measure) within-participants design with a sample size of 46. Note data is missing for 15 trials due participant and experimenter errors.</p> <p>The csv file has 230 rows and 7 columns.</p> <p><em>Subject</em>: Unique identifier for each participant. <br> <em>Physical Distance</em>: Physical distance from the participant to the target cone, in meters.<br> <em>Blindwalk Away</em>: Participants put on the blindfold after viewing the target. Next, participants took one step to the left and turned 180 degrees to face the opposite direction. Participants were instructed to walk forward until they had walked the original distance to the target. <br> <em>Blindwalk Toward</em>: Participants put on the blindfold after viewing the target. Next, participants walked forward until they thought they had reached the target cone.<br> <em>Triangulated BW:</em> Participants put on the blindfold after viewing the target. Next, participants turned right 90 degrees and walked<br> forward 5 meters. The experimenter told participants when to stop walking. Finally, participants turned to face toward the target and walked forward two steps.<br> <em>Verbal:</em> Participants stated the distance between the target cone and themselves, in feet and inches. <br> <em>Visual Matching:</em> An experimenter stood next to the target cone and walked away from the cone in a straight line that was <br> perpendicular to the extent between the target and the participant. Participants instructed the experimenter to stop walking when they thought that the distance between the target and the experimenter was equal to the target distance.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
PsPM-BAER: Skin conductance fluctuations in a public speaking paradigm with a repeated-measures design
<p>This dataset contains four skin conductance response (SCR) measurements of 60 s duration from each of 40 healthy male university students (18-35 years) who participated in a public speaking anticipatory anxiety paradigm with a repeated-measures factorial design.</p>

We found that beam shift decreased throughout the day, likely due to the tube warming up as more scans are run. There was no correlation between overall scan time and the amount of beam shift.

Identifying mountain permafrost degradation by repeating historical ERT-measurements - supplement
<p>Ongoing global warming affects the degradation of mountainous permafrost. Permafrost thawing impacts landform evolution, reduces fresh water resources, enhances the potential of natural hazards, and thus has significant socio-economic impact. Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) has been widely used to map the ice-containing permafrost by its resistivity contrast compared to the surrounding non-frozen medium. We analyse the temporal changes in the resistivity distribution by comparing historical with recently measured ERT profiles. Three periglacial landforms (two rock glaciers and one talus slope) are surveyed in the Swiss and Austrian Alps by repeating historical field campaigns after periods of 10, 12, and 16 years, respectively. The resistivity values have been significantly reduced concerning ice-poor permafrost at all study sites. Interestingly, resistivity values related to ice-rich permafrost in the studied active rock glacier partly increased during the studied time period. To explain this apparent contradictory (in view of observed increase) observation, geomorphological circumstances, such as the relief and creeping behaviour of the active rock glacier, are discussed. Additional remote sensing data indicates an increased velocity in and around the active part with increased resistivity. The present study highlights alpine permafrost degradation resulting from ever-accelerating global warming.</p>

<p>Comprehensive data examining the pattern and repeatability of ascarid-specific antigen excretion in chicken faeces and the diagnostic accuracy of copro-antigen measurements compared to McMaster egg counts and antibody measurements in laying hens.</p> <p>The dataset consists of observations and measurements obtained from a controlled study involving laying hens infected with mixed <em>Ascaridia galli</em> and<em> Heterakis gallinarum</em>. A total of 179 individual hens were monitored between wpi 2 and 18 and their fecal samples/blood samples were collected at specific time points. Faecel samples were repeatedly collected four(4) consecutive times in one wpi.Hence antigen measurements is 4 X 179 = 716 measurements</p>

A Test of the Repeatability of Measurements of Relative Fitness in the Long-Term Evolution Experiment with Escherichia coli
<p>Experimental studies of evolution using microbes have a long tradition, and these studies have increased greatly in number and scope in recent decades. Most such experiments have been short in duration, typically running for weeks or months. A venerable exception, the long-term evolution experiment (LTEE) with <i>Escherichia coli</i> has continued for 30 years and 70,000 bacterial generations. The LTEE has become one of the cornerstones of the field of experimental evolution, in general, and the BEACON Center for the Study of Evolution in Action, in particular. Science laboratories and experiments usually have finite lifespans, but we hope that the LTEE can continue far into the future. There are practical issues associated with maintaining such a long-term experiment. One issue, which we address here, is whether key measurements made at one time and place are reproducible, within reasonable limits, at other times and places. This issue comes to the forefront when one considers moving an experiment like the LTEE from one lab to another. To that end, the Barrick lab at the University of Texas at Austin, measured the fitness values of samples from the 12 LTEE populations at 2,000, 10,000, and 50,000 generations and compared the new data to data previously obtained at Michigan State University. On balance, the datasets agree very well. More generally, this finding shows the value of simplicity in experimental design, such as using a chemically defined growth medium and appropriately storing samples from microbiological experiments. Even so, one must be vigilant in checking assumptions and procedures given the potential for uncontrolled factors (e.g., water quality) to affect outcomes. This vigilance is perhaps especially important for a trait like fitness, which integrates all aspects of organismal performance and may therefore be sensitive to any number of subtle environmental influences.</p>
A Repeated Measures Dataset on Public Responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic: Social Norms, Attitudes, Behaviors, Conspiracy Thinking, and (Mis)Information
<p>We present a quantitative repeated measures dataset from intensive longitudinal research (diary survey) conducted with participants drawn from a nationally representative sample of the German population. This diary survey addresses a wide range of variables relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic, including information seeking, attitudes towards science, public health, and related behaviors. Respondents were asked about their thoughts, challenges, concerns, and experiences related to the pandemic. Survey responses were requested every two weeks from November 2020 and September 2021 for a total of 18 stages of data collection. The diary survey responses were all matched to the same individual. Using the unique identifier for each individual, the diary survey dataset can be analyzed in concert with a larger representative survey sample that was conducted three times within the same research project over this time period. The diary dataset we present here includes socio-demographic information and other potentially relevant variables, ready for secondary analysis.<br> <br> Initial sample frame: <em>N </em>= 1,480</p> <p>Initial diary survey sub-sample: <em>N </em>= 133</p>
Repeated measure plant community data after fire in boreal forest, Taiga Shield, Northwest Territories, Canada, 1998-2018
<p>10 transects were established in the years following fire in boreal forest stands on the Taiga Shield, Northwest Territories, Canada in 1998-1999. These were remeasured annually. Six transects were returned to on 2018 for another measurement. At each measurement, we recorded ground covers, species identities, and counted tree stems (seedlings).</p>
Large repeated measures experiments of acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) streamflow measurements under steady flow conditions (Chauvan 2016 regatta)
<p>From 8 to 10 November 2016, 50 laboratories or teams (from 8 different countries) with 50 ADCPs, simultaneously conducted more than 600 ADCP discharge measurements in steady flow conditions (around 14 m<sup>3</sup>/s released by a dam), during three half-days, over 500 m along the Taurion River at Saint-Priest-de-Taurion, France. 26 cross-sections with various shapes and flow conditions, and more or less favourable conditions, were distributed along the river.
