Data on Predictive Resilience of Interdependent Water and Transportation Infrastructures: A Sociotechnical Approach
<p>Interdependent critical infrastructures are vulnerable to the cascading effect of failures resulting from random failures and natural disasters. The data provided in this work is the processed data used for the proposed resilience assessment framework for interdependent water-transportation networks dealing with both types of failure \citep{1}. The case study is the interconnected networks of water and transportation in Tampa, Florida. The data for the random failure is obtained from the developed algorithmic framework and the land use and social vulnerability data provided by U.S. Census datasets. We then used a subset of this produced data to construct the predictive models for the network resilience to random failures. As for the natural disaster scenario, we focused on hurricane Irma in 2017 as it directly affected the focused region in Florida. We used the specific guidelines and the raw flooding data for this hurricane provided by FEMA to estimate the standing water for each geographical area (polygons) and the associated network components. We labeled the areas as failed and undamaged based on the estimated water levels. Finally, we used this data for developing a geospatial Geographical Weighted Regression (GWR) model to predict the resilience in each polygon. We present the final dataset for water and transportation networks to facilitate reusability for any future resilience study in the selected urban area. </p>
Designing and implementing smart glass technology for emergency medical services: A sociotechnical perspective
<p>Objective: This study aims to investigate key considerations and critical factors that influence the implementation and adoption of smart glasses in fast-paced medical settings such as emergency medical services (EMS).</p> <p>Materials and Methods: We employed a sociotechnical theoretical framework and conducted a set of participatory design workshops with fifteen EMS providers to elicit their opinions and concerns about using smart glasses in real practice.</p> <p>Results: Smart glasses were recognized as a useful tool to improve EMS workflow given their hands-free nature and capability of processing and capturing various patient data. Out of the eight dimensions of the sociotechnical model, we found that hardware and software, human-computer interface, workflow, and external rules and regulations were cited as the major factors that could influence the adoption of this novel technology. EMS participants highlighted several key requirements for successful implementation of smart glasses in the EMS context, such as durable devices, easy-to-use and minimal interface design, seamless integration with existing systems and workflow, and secure data management.</p> <p>Discussion: Applications of the sociotechnical model allowed us to identify a range of factors, including not only technical aspects, but also social, organizational, and human factors, that impact the implementation and uptake of smart glasses in EMS. Our work informs design implications for smart glass applications to fulfill EMS providers' needs.</p> <p>Conclusion: The successful implementation of smart glasses in EMS and other dynamic healthcare settings needs careful consideration of sociotechnical issues and close collaboration between different stakeholders.</p>

<p>This is the replication package for the paper “Sociotechnical Dynamics in Open Source Smart Contract Repositories: An Exploratory Data Analysis of Curated High Market Value Projects”.</p> <p>In project_curation_selection, there is the curation process of the 100 selected projects including the identification of GitHub repositories and classification of evolution scenarios. </p> <p>In distribution_commits_issues_contributors_market_value_before_after_deploy, data collection from GitHub projects includes the distribution of total commits, contributors, and issues before and after deployment of each investigated project. </p> <p>In analysis_commit_messages, there is qualitative analysis of commit message content from all investigated projects. </p> <p>In the analysis_contributors section, the data focuses on analyzing the profiles of each GitHub contributor involved in the investigated projects.</p> <p>In analysis_market_value_by_project, data refers to the market value and volume of each investigated project. </p> <p>In codes, there are scripts used to obtain the analyzed data.</p> <p> </p>
