Line luminosities of Galactic and Magellanic Cloud Wolf-Rayet stars
<p>Template (optical, continuum subtracted) emission line spectra of Milky Way and Magellanic Cloud Wolf-Rayet stars, presented in Appendix B of Crowther, Rate & Bestenlehner (2023, MNRAS, in press; https://arxiv.org/abs/2301.11297). Ascii format, wavelength (Angstrom) versus monochromatic luminosity (erg/s/Angstrom). Separate templates are provided for single-only and all (single+binary) since binaries are often contaminated by (Balmer) absorption lines from companion OB stars. Highly reddened sources (primarily in Milky Way) also exhibit strong interstellar features (CaII H&K, NaI D, DIBs at 4430, 5780, 5797 Angstrom) and some datasets involved have not been corrected for atmospheric telluric features. Owing to the heterogeneous origin of individual datasets, templates cover a range of wavelength regions, and some exclude the 6070-6400 Ang region, owing to detector gaps for ANU 2.3m + DBS spectroscopy. Separate templates are provided for each galaxy with the exception of WN/C and WO stars, which are also combined into a single dataset (owing to the low total numbers involved). Templates are degraded to a uniform resolution of 10 Angstrom, with average radial velocity corrections of 284 km/s (LMC) and 162 km/s (SMC) applied. <p>The files here show example input files for the models in the paper "Tidal Spin-up of Black Hole Progenitor Stars" by Ma & Fuller (2023).</p> <p>File "inlist_MS" and "inlist_WR" show MESA inlists to set up a Wolf-Rayet star model of 10 solar-masses (model 3 in Ma & Fuller 2023, Table 1).<br> We used MESA version r12778 for our calculation.<br> Specifically, "inlist_MS" starts a stellar model at zero-age main-sequence (ZAMS), and evolves it to the end of core hydrogen depletion.<br> After resuming the model from a photo file, "inlist_WR" turns on artificial mass-loss ("relax_mass" and "new_mass") to remove its hydrogen envelope, and then evolves the model throughout the helium burning Wolf-Rayet phase, until the end of core helium depletion.<br> During this phase, pulsation data are also created by MESA ("write_pulse_data_with_profile = .true.").</p> <p><br> File "gyre.in" is an example GYRE input file to solve for oscillation modes in the established Wolf-Rayet star models.<br> We used GYRE version 6.0.1 for our calculation.</p>

The VIIth Catalog of Galactic Wolf-Rayet Stars
The VIIth Catalogue of Galactic Population I Wolf-Rayet (WR) Stars provides improved coordinates, spectral types, and bv photometry of known WR stars and adds 71 new stars compared to the VIth Catalog. This census of galactic WR stars has reached 227 stars (226 entries in this catalog), comprising 127 WN stars, 87 WC stars, 10 WN/WC stars, and 3 WO stars. This includes 15 WNL and 11 WCL stars within 30 pc of the Galactic Center. The catalog includes information on periodicity, binarity, terminal wind velocities, correlations with open clusters, OB associations, H I bubbles, H II regions, and ring nebulae, observed and dereddened narrow-band bv photometry, and distances, both heliocentric and galactocentric, and lists the references from which this information was obtained. This catalog was created by the HEASARC in April 2001, based on electronic versions of Tables 13, 14, 15, and 28 from the published paper containing the catalog which were directly supplied to the HEASARC by the author.
