Supplement code and data for "Accounting for trade in derived products when estimating European Union's role in driving deforestation"

This repository includes the code to reproduce the results and visualizations as well as the complete output underlying the publication:

Laroche, P.C.S.J., Gómez-Suárez, M., Persson, U.M., Pendrill, F., Schwarzmueller, F., Schulp, C.J.E., Kastner, T., 2024. Accounting for trade in derived products when estimating European Union’s role in driving deforestation. Ecological Economics 224, 108288. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ecolecon.2024.108288

The file "01_calculations.R" calculates the files included in the "output" folder. These files can be used to visualize the results using the file "02_visualization.R".
The folder input_data contains some of the files necessary to run the code in "01_calculations.R". Note that additional data has to be downloaded to run the calculations, as specified in the R file. The folder "results" includes an xlsx file with the complete output of the calculation using the "mean" conversion factors.

Investigating the Country of Origin and the Role of the .eu TLD in External Trade of European Union Member States

This dataset includes structured information on various parameters of construction, development and hosting of almost 30.000 existing .eu websites which were collected through means of Web data extraction. This information was analyzed and processed by a detailed algorithm that produced results concerning each website’s most probable country of origin based on a multitude of factors. The dataset is part of the core methodology and discussion sections of the research paper entitled "Investigating the Country of Origin and the Role of the .eu TLD in External Trade of European Union Member States".

Replication package for: Does Pricing Carbon Mitigate Climate Change? Firm-Level Evidence from the European Union Emissions Trading System

This package contains three folders: the Code folder, Results (or output) folder and the data folder. It also contains a document README.pdf .

Part of the codes can be run with the data provided in the data folder, and have _outofbox in their name. Others can only run with confidential data - all details are provided in the README.pdf file.

These are for the paper:

Colmer, J., R. Martin, M. Muûls, and U.J. Wagner.
