Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario Networked Information System 2020
Childhood Cancer in Ontario: The 2020 POGO Surveillance Report is the third in a series of POGO childhood cancer surveillance statistical reports. It provides recent childhood cancer statistics in Ontario related to incidence (new cancers), mortality (deaths), survival (percentage of children who survive at least 5 years after diagnosis) and estimates of prevalence (number of people alive with a past diagnosis of cancer during childhood) by sex, age group and cancer type for children aged 0-14 years and diagnosed with cancer in Ontario. Information on trends and changes in these measures over time are also presented. This work enhances data-driven quality improvement by ensuring that the right data are available and being used to inform an effective childhood cancer system.
