Video supplement: Factors determining the natural fresh-salt groundwater distribution in deltas
<p>This presents the 3D renderings of the groundwater salinity of all the trajectories in our global sensitivity analysis of a three-dimensional, variable-density groundwater model of a synthetic delta with complex paleo-hydrological boundary conditions</p> <p>In total there are 10 trajectories, each consisting of 24 simulations. So in total there are 240 simulations. </p> <p>The videos show the development of the fresh-salt groundwater distribution over 45 ka for trajectories 1-10, viewed from the sea-side. Each panel is one step, at the top left it is which input is altered in which direction. A plus sign means an increase in the input, a minus sign a decrease. The blue-yellow-red color scale indicates salinity. The shaded areas the clay layers, the white color the location of the river boundaries and the black color the location of sea cells. Note that the vertical of each distribution with the following is stretched by a factor <span class="math-tex">\(4000/\log(\Delta z)\)</span>, since the system thickness varied logarithmically.</p> <p> </p>
