optoacoustic tomography beta-amyloid imaging

The abnormal deposition of fibrillar beta-amyloid (Aβ) deposits in the brain is one of the major histopathological hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Here we describe a novel 3D high-resolution whole brain imaging method to quantify brain Aβ deposits by using non-invasive optoacoustic tomography in arcAβ and APP/PS1 transgenic mouse models of cerebral amyloidosis.
