It is considered the largest burial chamber (dolmen) in the Iberian Peninsula, and one of the largest in Europe. Neolithic, dating between 4000 and 3500 BCE. The Anta Grande do Zambujeiro was declared a national monument by the Portuguese government on the 22nd of November 1971. A full scan of the site is in this Sketchfab collection. The site was excavated in the 1960s by Henrique Leonor Pina.
