Panel 8, room XXXII, Nineveh palace

Gypsum wall panel relief: showing a scene in three rows. In the upper row, heads are carried from the left and recorded by two scribes. The middle row shows deportees moving towards the right and meeting soldiers with spears, and the lower row depicts soldiers leading horses, moving towards the left through a mountain landscape. This neo-Assyrian relief dates to 700 - 692 BC and was discovered in room XXXII of the south-west palace at Nineveh. It was acquired by the British Museum in 1856.
