Intervijas galvenie temati:

-- Guntis kā DJs 80-to sākumā (līdz 90-to vidum), pārsvarā dīdžejojot Augšlīgatnē kā DJ Guntis

Ja vēlies iegūt to, no sākuma jādabū atļauja no Gunta.

//

[1:12 h audio interview + short videos taken during the interview]

Interviewed by Jānis Daugavietis (LU LFMI) as part of the study 'Riga's new scene'. In Latvian.
(audio interview in two versions - original wav files and slightly processed [compressed] MP3)

The interview took place in Rīga at the "Depo" club at the bar counter. I am the customer, Guntis is on the side of the bartender. We started around 4:00 p.m., when geography (?) students were preparing for the corporate evening event downstairs, so the front door was also often opened (and can be heard).

The main topics of the interview:

-- Guntis as a DJ in the early 80s (until the middle of the 90s), mostly DJing in the Augšlīgatne as DJ Guntis
-- smtg about family and dancing in the (mostly elite) folk dance ensembles
-- smtg about the club "Metro" (1999-2002, if I'm not mistaken)
-- about the operation of "Depo" since 2002. (the most important turning point around 2016-17, when Guntis himself took leadership and control into his own hands, and which also soon coincided with the beginning of the boom of the new scene in 2019).

Interview taken for research purposes and history. If you want to get it, you have to get permission from Guntis from the beginning.
