Dataset of vascular epiphytes in Colombia

We compiled a dataset of 726,578 records of epiphytic species in Colombia, integrating a comprehensive epiphyte list from different primary sources, all records are available through GBIF (https://doi.org/10.15468/dl.rk4z6u) . We performed a data cleaning according to the SiB Colombia data lab, which includes the elimination of duplicates, taxonomic, geographic and temporal revision. All data were standardized to Darwin Core format and are UTF-8 encoded.

The execution of this dataset was possible thanks to the support of GBIF, the European Union, BID Caribbean, SiB Colombia and the Botanical Garden "Joaquin Antonio Uribe" of Medellin. This dataset is part of the project "Collections-based data for conservation actions: engaging decision-making actors to save globally threatened epiphytes in Colombia" and was sponsored by GBIF, BID Caribe and the European Union under grant BID-CA2020-047-USE.

For more information see the project page: https://www.gbif.org/project/BID-CA2020-047-USE/collections-based-engagement-of-decision-makers-to-save-globally-threatened-epiphytes-in-colombia
