Red arrows indicates a more pronounced concavity of the anterolateral margin of the pronotum in C. mediterraneus atlanticus. The posterolateral margin is more convex in C. fuscispinus. Hence, the convexity (shown by green lines) further exceeds in C. fuscispinus the red line drawn between the humeral angle of the pronotum and the humeral angle of the scutellum. The distance between the anterior margin of the pronotum and the dotted red line, drawn between the humeral angles, is shorter in C. fuscispinus (usually less than a third of the length of pronotum).
