Branch lengths are scaled according to the chronogram presented by Lecompte et al. (2008: fig. 2). The placement of Chiropodomys and Vandeleuria on this topology is based on the multigene phylogeny published by Rowe et al. (2008); branch lengths for these placements are approximate. The taxonomic content of each Tribe is summarized in table 3.
