Loaded Waveguide Measurements of Plastic Explosives at V-Band

The dataset consists of two-port S-parameter measurements collected with the Keysight Technologies N5245A PNA-X 50 GHz network analyzer operating with two OML, Inc. V-band (WR-15) waveguide transceivers in the frequency range 50–75 GHz. The device-under-test is a WR-15 waveguide shim of 2 mm length filled with varied explosive materials (approximately 14 microliter); samples include C-4, Primasheet 1000, Primasheet 2000, and Semtex 10. Data was collected in increments of 10 MHz (2501 points) with an intermediate frequency (IF) bandwidth of 3 kHz. Dielectric characterization of the materials is accomplished by analysis of electromagnetic wave propagation in the loaded waveguide by fitting to dielectric parameters and sample protrusion lengths at the ends of the loaded waveguide, for example using the method described in Z. J. Landicini, J. Barber, J. C. Weatherall, D.C. Karns, P.R. Smith, J Aparicio-Bolano, and W. Ruiz, "Loaded waveguide measurements of plastic explosives at V-band," Proc. SPIE, vol. 12535, pp. 156-166, 2023.
