Cuneiform economic text. Baked clay. Early Bronze Age (Ur III). 1911.10.160. This tablet documents the delivery of leather footwear, including many which were dyed using an imported greenish-blue pigment. These boots and sandals were valued enough to be given as gifts to important foreign dignitaries.
