(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1, number 213 here with notations and hyperlinks].</li> </ul> <p>1646</p> <p>Mathnaw&icirc;s by N&acirc;ṣir &lsquo;Al&icirc;.</p> <p>A number of mathnaw&icirc;s by the same N&acirc;ṣir &lsquo;Al&icirc;, the <em>first</em> of which, on ff. 1<sup>b</sup>-52<sup>a</sup>, is the same religious poem which appears in most copies of N&acirc;ṣir &lsquo;Al&icirc;&rsquo;s poetical works (see Rieu, Sprenger, Pertsch, and Bodleian Cat., loc. cit.), and begins:</p> <p>الهى ذرّۀ درد ( دردى read) بجان ريز</p> <p>شرر در پنبه زار استخوان ريز</p> <p>A special copy of this mathnaw&icirc; is noticed in W. Pertsch, Berlin Cat., p. 697, No. 15.</p> <p>On ff. 53<sup>a</sup>-105 a large number of smaller mathnaw&icirc;s are added, no doubt by the same N&acirc;ṣir &lsquo;Al&icirc;, the first of which begins:</p> <p>بنام خداوند ناز آفرين &ndash; جگرهاى عاشق گداز آفرين</p> <p>The others are partly S&acirc;ḳ&icirc;n&acirc;mas, partly encomiums of the Kalandar&icirc; monks, all of mystical import. The mathnaw&icirc; on Kashm&icirc;r, noticed in Rieu ii. p. 700<sup>a</sup>, is not found among them.</p> <p>No date.</p> <p>No. 213, ff. 105, 2 coll., each ll. 17; Nasta&rsquo;l&icirc;ḳ; all the headings (invariably in verses and sometimes very long( written in red ink; size, 9<sup>1/2</sup> in. by 5<sup>3/8</sup> in.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
