The earliest collection, it seems, of the lyrical poems of Mullâ Muḥammad Ḳâsim Dîwâna of Mashhad, who was a pupil of Ṣâ’ib (Nos. 1606-1623 above) and a contemporary of Sarkhwush, the author of the Kalimât-alshu’arâ (see Nos. 670-672); he was still alive in A.H. 1136 (A.D. 1723, 1724), comp. Rieu ii. p. 707b; A. Sprenger, Catal., pp. 113, 128 and 534, and W. Pertsch, Berlin Cat., p. 699, No. 26 (where a few of his ghazals are noticed). This collection, which contains ghazals and rubâ’îs in alphabetical order, with a few fards and rubâ’îs at the end, was written in A.H. 1101 (A.D. 1689, 1690), probably by the poet himself. Beginning: بسكه افتاد از غمت شوريدگى در كار ما بر سر ما خود بخود وا ميشود دستار ما College of Fort William, 1825. No. 2320, ff. 109, 2 coll., each ll. 15; Nasta’lîḳ; illuminated frontispiece; size, 81/8 in. by 45/8 in.
