Risk Factors for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD): A Matched Case-Control Study in Kuwait / DATASET

<p>This dataset contains data from a matched case-control study conducted in Kuwait to investigate potential risk factors for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC). The study includes data from 2 groups, cases (IBD patients) and matched healthy controls group.&nbsp;</p> <p>The dataset captures a range of environmental, occupational, dietary, and lifestle factors hypothesized to contribute to the development of IBD. Variables include demographic details, occupational stress levels, dietary patterns, history of appendectomy, exposure to parasitic infections, and more.&nbsp;</p> <p>This dataset is intended to support research on epidemiology of IBD and can provide insights into potential risk factors specific to population in the Middle East. Ethical Approval was obtained for the study, and all data are anonymized to protect participant confidentiality.&nbsp;</p>
