From upper left to lower right: Hypoplectrus puella, H. nigricans, H. unicolor, H. affinis, H. aberrans, H. gummigutta, H. randallorum, H. guttavarius and H. providencianus. Hypoplectrus guttavarius and H. providencianus were not observed within the transects but one individual of each species was obseerved in Bocas del Toro between 2004 and 2013. Note that H. unicolor, H. aberrans, H. gummigutta, H. randallorum and H. guttavarius have visible implant elastomer tags in the base of the caudal fin. All photographs from Bocas del Toro and by OP.
