(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong></a>&nbsp;<strong>number 2003 here with notations and hyperlinks]</strong>.</li> </ul> <p>670</p> <p>Kalim&acirc;t-alshu&rsquo;ar&acirc; ( كلمات الشعرا ) .</p> <p>The words of the poets, a tadhkirah of the Persian poets of India, flourishing in the reigns of Jah&acirc;ng&icirc;r, Sh&acirc;hjah&acirc;n, and &lsquo;&Acirc;lamg&icirc;r, by Mirz&acirc; Muḥammad Afḍal with the takhalluṣ Sarkhwush, who died at Dihl&icirc;, A.H. 1127 (A.D. 17150), according to the Khaz&acirc;na-i-&rsquo;&acirc;mirah (Bodleian Cat., No.381, 60), or A.H. 1126 (A.D. 1714), according to the Khul&acirc;ṣat-alafk&acirc;r (Bodelian Cat., No. 391, 135); even A.H. 1125 (A.D. 1713) is given as date of his death, comp. Rieu i. p. 369; W. Pertsch, Berlin Cat., P. 617; Bland, in Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society, ix. p. 168; A. Sprenger, Catal., p. 108 sq., where a detailed account of this tadhkirah is given.</p> <p>The title of the book (see fol. 3<sup>b</sup>, l. 6) is a chronogram, giving the date of composition as A.H. 1093 (A.D. 1682). It is arranged alphabetically, and begins (on fol.3<sup>b</sup>) with <em>M&icirc;r Il&acirc;h&icirc;</em> (who died, according to the Khul&acirc;ṣat-alafk&acirc;r, Bodleian Cat., No. 391, 36, A.H. 1060=A.D. 1650; others give the date of his death as A.H. 1057, 1063, or 1064=A.D. 1647, 1653, or 1654, see Rieu ii. p. 687, iii. p. 1091<sup>b</sup>, and A.Sprenger, Catal., p. 436); the last poet is <em>M&icirc;r Ya</em><em>ḥy&acirc; K&acirc;sh&icirc;</em> (who died A.H. 1074 = A.D. 1663, 1664), on fol. 103<sup>b</sup>.</p> <p>Beginning: سخن جانست و ديگر گفتگو جانان زمن بشنو &ndash; اگر هر لحظه جانى تازه خواهى اين سخن بشنو الخ.</p> <p>Dated Dh&ucirc;-alḳa&rsquo;dah, A.H. 1154 (24th year of Muḥammadsh&acirc;h&rsquo;s reign) = A.D. 1742, January.</p> <p>No. 2003, ff. 108, ll. 12-13; written for the greater part in Shikasta; size, 6<sup>1/2</sup> in. by 4<sup>1/8</sup> in.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
