Bodleian Cat., Nos. 431-437; Rieu ii. p. 756 ; W. Pertsch, Berlin Cat., p. 970 sq.; J. Aumer, p. 46 ; Cat. des MSS. et Xylographes, p. 409; Ḥ. Khalfa v. p. 239 ; Zenker i. pp. 83 and 84. Wollaston, London, 1878.</p> <p>Parts of the Anw&acirc;r-i-Suhail&icirc; have been printed in text and translation in the Asiatic Journal, vol. v, in Langl&egrave;s&rsquo; Chrestomathy (see on this very rare publication Pertsch, Berlin Cat., p. 442, note 2), and in Spiegel&rsquo;s Chrestomathia Persica, pp. 23-40. The latter have been translated into German by H. Eth&eacute; (Morgenl&auml;ndische Studien, Leipzig, 1868, pp. 147-166); some miscellaneous verses from the Anw&acirc;r-i-Suhail&icirc; have been published in English translation in A. Roger&rsquo;s Persian Anthology, London, 1889, pp. 35-47. The composition of this modernized version of Naṣr-all&acirc;h bin Muḥammad bin al-Ḥam&icirc;d&rsquo;s older Persian translation of Al-Muḳaffa&rsquo;s&rsquo; Arabic text (which was made about A.H. 539=A.D. 1144, 1145, see Bodleian Cat., No. 430) was suggested to the author by Niż&acirc;m-ald&icirc;n Am&icirc;r Shaikh Aḥmad al-Suhail&icirc;, who died A.H. 907 or 908 (A.D. 1501-1503). It contains fourteen chapters.</p> <p>Beginning:حضرت حكيم على الاطلاق جلت حكمته كه وظائف الخ.</p> <p>This copy, which is very much soiled, is dated the 8th of Shaww&acirc;l, A.H. 1097 (A.D. 1688, Aug. 28).
