Wollaston, London, 1878.</p> <p>Parts of the Anwâr-i-Suhailî have been printed in text and translation in the Asiatic Journal, vol. v, in Langlès’ Chrestomathy (see on this very rare publication Pertsch, Berlin Cat., p. 442, note 2), and in Spiegel’s Chrestomathia Persica, pp. 23-40. The latter have been translated into German by H. Ethé (Morgenländische Studien, Leipzig, 1868, pp. 147-166); some miscellaneous verses from the Anwâr-i-Suhailî have been published in English translation in A. Roger’s Persian Anthology, London, 1889, pp. 35-47. The composition of this modernized version of Naṣr-allâh bin Muḥammad bin al-Ḥamîd’s older Persian translation of Al-Muḳaffa’s’ Arabic text (which was made about A.H. 539=A.D. 1144, 1145, see Bodleian Cat., No. 430) was suggested to the author by Niżâm-aldîn Amîr Shaikh Aḥmad al-Suhailî, who died A.H. 907 or 908 (A.D. 1501-1503). It contains fourteen chapters.</p> <p>Beginning:حضرت حكيم على الاطلاق جلت حكمته كه وظائف الخ.</p> <p>This copy, which is very much soiled, is dated the 8th of Shawwâl, A.H. 1097 (A.D. 1688, Aug. 28).
