"Aged Monkey" Takamura Koun

[Takamura Koun](https://skfb.ly/orKRx)(1852~1934) 高村光雲 "Aged Monkey"1893. Meiji-era sculptor Takamura Koun (1852-1934), considered the father of Japanese modern sculpture, studied wood carving under Takamura Toun, a sculptor of Buddhist images. Influenced by the realism of Western carving Koun contributed to modernize traditional Japanese wood carving.
