Decorative Planter(?) or Birdbath Fragment

This artifact was found in the summer of 2021 while the CAP crew was monitoring a construction project near the Spartan Village Apartments. While it is not known exactly what this artifact is, the CAP crew have narrowed it down to either the rim or base of a large decorative planter or the rim of a birdbath. Made of an unglazed yellow stoneware, this planter or birdbath likely belonged to the family who used to live on a farmhouse in the area that was demolished in the late 1950s when MSU bought the land. The outer edge exhibits decorative botanical motifs that could be found on either a decorative planter or on a birdbath. This, combined with the slope of the basin make an exact artifact identification ambiguous at best, but a fun mystery, nonetheless.
