From the Punu People of Equitorial Guinea. Carved wood with fine aged encrusted dark brown black vegetable pigment& white kaolin patina of a mask in the form of a human face, probably female, covered primarily in kaolin with forehead, temple & cheek scarification, eyelid area, ears & lips accented with dark brown black vegetable pigment coloration, unusual pair breast-like forms on top of mask as well as unusual scalloped design around the perimeter of the mask which is also pierced for attachment, signs of age and use.
