Direct records of Chironius exoletus (squares) and C. pyrrhopogon following institutional identifications attributed to specialists (white circles), and indirect records of C. pyrrhopogon recovered in the catalogues of the Instituto Butantan (black circles), the black star represents the type-locality of C. pyrrhopogon (Wied, 1824). Specimens of Instituto Butantan were destroyed by fire on May 15th of 2010.
