3D Animations of Sallenger's Storm Impact Regimes
<p>This resource contains four 3D rendered animations of the different regimes described by the Storm Impact Scale (Sallenger, 2000). The scale is a conceptual framework which originally described the impact of coastal storm to barrier island systems. The four regimes are described as follows:</p> <ul> <li>Swash regime: The case where the maximum total water level does not exceed the dune toe. </li> <li>Collision regime: The case where the maximum total water level exceeds the dune toe, eroding the front of the dune.</li> <li>Overwash regime: The case where the maximum total water level exceeds the dune crest, resulting in water overtopping the dune.</li> <li>Inundation regime: The case where the minimum total water level exceeds the dune crest, typically removing the dune system.</li> </ul> <p>For more information, refer to Sallenger, A.
