For the designation "Kalanchoe uniflora var. brachycalyx", Boiteau & Mannoni (1949: 9) cited a Jean-Henri Humbert specimen, as "HUMBERT 18.605, Bassin supérieur du Sambirano, entre le Haut Sambirano et le Haut Maivarano, vers 1.800 m.", which would have been the type if "Kalanchoe uniflora var. brachycalyx" had been validly published.
