Also note the significant difference of crystallization in layer 1 between oviraptorids and troodontids as well as the type of contact between structural layers 1 and 2. Arrows in layer two points to voids that are more numerous in this second structural layer than in layer 1. These voids are the mold of protein matter that normally composed 2% of eggshell and were destroyed during the process of fossilization.
