ES-PLANTUFAM: um Sistema Especialista de Identificação de Famílias de Plantas Amazônicas por Características Morfológicas Diagnósticas

<div> <div> <div> <div> <p>The Amazon Rainforest, known for its biodiversity, hosts a wide range of plants whose accurate identification is essential for the fields of taxonomy, ecology, and conservation. This article describes the development and evaluation of ES-PLANTUFAM, an online expert system for identifying angiosperm families in the Brazilian Amazon. The system was created based on data collected from specialized literature. Different decision tree algorithms were tested using the Weka program, and the system was implemented in ES-Builder. Usability and accuracy tests and validations were conducted with samples deposited at the HUAM/UFAM Herbarium. ES-PLANTUFAM proved to be an effective tool for identifying angiosperms, offering an interactive and accessible platform that supports botanical education and research. It integrates expert knowledge and modern technologies to enhance the understanding of diagnostic morphological characteristics of plants.</p> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div> <div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </div> </div>
