DeepCCZ cruise: western Clarion-Clipperton Zone CTD cast and bottle sample physicochemical datasets

DeepCCZ was a cruise to the three western Areas of Particular Environmental Interest (APEIs) in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone of the North Pacific Gyre in May-June, 2018. The primary goal of this cruise was to assess overall biodiversity across as many trophic levels as feasible in these APEIs, both to provide baseline data before the potential start of mining activity in the region and to assist with assessments as to the representativity of the APEI network. A secondary goal was to contrast biodiversity associated with abyssal plains and neighboring seamounts in this region. This dataset contains water column biogeochemical data collected with a CTD package mounted on a sampling rosette, as well as bottle data from samples collected at sea and analyzed in on-shore laboratories.

Bottle data, as well as cast locations and CTD results, are collected in the .xlsx file. Processed individual CTD cast results, in .cnv format, are also archived.

Contact for questions about this dataset: Emma Wear, ekwear.oceans@gmail.com
