Mostly thirteen lines in a page.</p> <p>The <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5325857">preceding Glosses</a> of SAIYID SHAR&Icirc;F, introduced here by the words:</p> <p>الحمدلله علي جزيل نواله و الصلوة علی رسوله محمد و آله</p> <p>They are accompanied, on the margin, by two successive explanations:--</p> <p><strong>1. Foll. 1-121</strong>. The Glosses of &lsquo;IM&Acirc;D b. Yaḥya b. &lsquo;Al&icirc; F&acirc;ris&icirc;,<sup>1 </sup>which extend over the first مقالة &nbsp;of the <em>Shams&icirc;yah</em>, and refer both to Saiyid Shar&icirc;f&rsquo;s glosses and to the commentary of Ḳuṭb al-d&icirc;n.</p> <p>The date runs as follows:</p> <p>هذا آخر ما اردنا ايراده في هذا الكتاب و الحمدلله .... و قد وقع الفراغ من تاليفه في عاشر المحرم الاول من شهور السنة الاخيرة للعشر الخامس من تاسع مائی الهجریة&nbsp; (!)&nbsp; في بلدة هراة و من تسويده في الثامن شهر المحرم لسنة خمس و خـ[مسين] و ثمانمائة و الحمد لله الخ.</p> <p>The author&rsquo;s preface is written on the title-page of this volume. It begins :نحمدك يا من انطق لسان عبدة بايات جلاله.</p> <p><strong>2. Foll. 121<em>v</em>.-160</strong>. The Glosses of <a href="https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2007069546.html">KHAL&Icirc;L b. Muḥammad b. Raḍaw&icirc;</a><sup>1 </sup>(Karam&acirc;n&icirc;) on the remaining part of the work, viz., القضايا و القياسات &nbsp;or,التصىيقات &nbsp;as Ḥ. Kh. Styles it (iv. 78 sq., where he gives an abstract of the preface). These glosses also refer both to those of Saiyid Shar&icirc;f and to the commentary itself.</p> <p>Very neatly written, of the eleventh century.
