The model determined with ModelTest v3.7 was TIM2+I+G model (-lnL = 3212.0225, AIC= 6528.04), base frequencies A = 0.3093, C = 0.1449, G = 0.1330, T = 0.4128, gamma distributed rate variation (G = 0.4870) (Posada and Crandall 1998). Dendroctonus pseudotsugae and Dendroctonus simplex were used as outgroups. Arrow shows the position of the Chihuahua sample.
