Although the ventral cleft between the fenestra and meatus proper is continuous in this specimen, there are signs of damage here as well. It is probable that a small flange of bone, no longer present, separated the two in life (cf. comparable conditions in Neoepiblema; Negri and Ferigolo, 1999: fig. 14).
