Note: the anatomical configuration of the anterior palate is conjectural; the proximity of the medial edges of the pterygoids is uncertain, although they seem unlikely to have been sutured in place, but may have been closer together than shown here, and linked by connective tissue, in life; the thin vertical sheets of bone that form the medial wall of the adductor chamber (pterygoid and quadrate wings, and the much-expanded flange on the lateral surface of the basisphenoid) appear to have been quite close.
